HTS Militants Attack Another Syrian Army Position Near Greater Idlib (Video)

On December 17, militants of al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) raided a position of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) near the northwestern region of Greater Idlib.

During the raid, the militants attempted to capture the position which is located in the town of Kabtan al-Dżabal in the western countryside of Aleppo. The militants engaged in heavy clashes with SAA personnel, who managed to hold on to the position.

The HTS-affiliated Military Media shared footage from the raid. The short footage shows HTS militants moving in the vicinity of the position.

HTS claimed that several service members of the SAA were killed or wounded during the raid. However, pro-government news sources didn’t report any losses.

This was the third such raid by HTS militants in less than a week. On December 11, the group’s militants raided positions of the SAA near the village of Dadikh in the southern Idlib countryside, and several others around the village of al-Bayda in the northern countryside of Lattakia at around the same time. Back then, HTS said that 24 service members were killed or wounded. However, pro-government forces reported a single fatality.

The recent raids were a blatant violation of the ceasefire in Greater Idlib, which was brokered by Russia and Turkey more than two years ago.

HTS escalated its attacks following reports of a near Russian-sponsored rapprochement between Syria and Turkey, who maintains large forces in the region. The terrorist group may be trying to disturb Russia’s efforts.

The SAA and its allies, including the Russian military, will not likely let HTS’s recent raids go unpunished. The terrorist group will likely be targeted very soon.

The report was not that several were killed or wounded, but that one was killed.

Probably your reports are getting lazy or sloppy or just dishonest for no good reason.

I recommend people google war crimes in Idlib where 98% are listed against Russia, Syria, and Iran.

I also recommend people consider the disproportionate support for Ukraine against Russia, with almost the same conditions in Syria.
