On September 23, terrorists of al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), the de-facto ruler of the northwestern Syrian region of Greater Idlib, raided two frontline posts of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in the western Aleppo countryside.

The terrorists stormed the two posts, which are located near the village of Khirbat Jidraia, after targeting SAA troops with heavy machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades.

The HTS-led al-Fateh al-Mubeen Operations Room alleged that six Syrian service members were killed as a result of the successful raid. However, the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that only three service members were killed.

Photos released from al-Fateh al-Mubeen show several terrorists of HTS moving inside one of the two posts and a single dead body lying on the ground.

This was the first such attack by HTS and its allies in several months. The al-Fateh al-Mubeen Operations Room claimed that the raid was carried out in response to an earlier advance attempt by the SAA near Khirbat Jidaraia. No such advance attempt was reported prior to the raid, however.

The deadly raid represents a blatant violations of the ceasefire in Greater Idlib, which was brokered by Russia and Turkey more than two years ago.

In its initial response to the raid, the SAA destroyed two vehicles in the western countryside of Aleppo with anti-tank guided missiles on September 23 and 24. The second attack killed a field commander of the Turkish-backed Sham Legion, an ally of HTS, and wounded another.

A more serious response by the SAA and its allies, first and foremost the Russian military, is to be expected in the upcoming few days.

Who’s spamming SF with so much the same anti-Putin propaganda? Not that I care anyway. Use those bombs and missiles on Europe instead of the MENA.

Well done HTS. scrabbling about in the rough for weeks in order to kill a few Syrians. Oh the heady days, what happened to them eh? No more parading about to the townspeople, and the cameras, in your finest. You are slumming it from now on.
