On May 7, the Joint Coordination Headquarters for Humanitarian Response in Ukraine reported that a humanitarian operation to evacuate civilians from Azovstal plant was completed.
From May 5 to May 7, 51 more civilians were evacuated from the basements.
” Thanks to unprecedented measures taken by the leadership of the Russian Federation, with the active participation of representatives of the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross, a humanitarian operation to evacuate civilians from Azovstal plant is now complete. During the period of the operation (from May 5, 2022), 51 people (18 men, 22 women, 11 children) were rescued, including one person on May 7, 2022.
Each citizen is provided with security and qualified medical and psychological assistance. Rescued civilians, accompanied by representatives of the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross, departed for selected temporary accommodation sites.” – the report reads.
In total, 182 people, including the elderly, women and children, were evacuated from the territory of the Azovstal plant in Mariupol, the Headquarters of the territorial Defense of the DPR reported on May 7. On May 6, the UN Secretary General reported that about 500 people were taken out of the blocked plant and adjacent territories.
All the released civilians were evacuated to the settlement of Bezymennoye, where they were provided with accommodation, food and medical care. Evacuated civilians who wished to leave for areas controlled by the Kiev regime were handed over to representatives of the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross.
The security operations were carried out by the Russian and DPR military, with the active participation of representatives of the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross. At the same time, Ukrainian officials in Kiev attempt to claim another victory.
Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Irina Vereshchuk reported that Zelensky’s “order to evacuate civilians has been fulfilled”.
She claimed that all children, women and the elderly were evacuated from Azovstal in Mariupol. Earlier, Vereshchuk claimed that about 1 thousand civilians had remained at the enterprise.
Despite the efforts to assure the ceasefire regime on the Azovstal facilities, shelling was reported by the both sides.
According to military sources from the spot, the Azov militants besieged in Azovstal disrupted the evacuation of civilians along the humanitarian corridor from the territory of the plant. The Ukrainian Armed Forces also used the ceasefire regime established by the Russian military to mine the passages at Azovstal. Groups of Ukrainian militants were spotted moving around the industrial zone, mining the concrete fence.
On May 6, the Ukrainian Azov regiment reported that 3 Ukrainian militants were killed, 6 more were injured. A military vehicle was reportedly hit by Russian anti-tank guided weapon.

According to Azov militants, the vehicle was moving towards civilians in order to evacuate them from the plant. Russian sources claimed that some of the Azov militants tried to regroup their forces and break out of the territory of Azovstal.
The end of the humanitarian operation to evacuate civilians from the Azovstal plant may mark another round of hostilities at the plant. Another round of massive shelling of industrial facilities should be expected. While the Russian President ordered to avoid the storming of Azovstal in order to save the lives of Russian servicemen, it is quite possible that the plant will be shelled with high-explosive bombs, up to FAB-5000 or FAB-9000.

Certainly civilians get caught up in war, if you look at the facts the US deliberately targeted civilians in nuclear bombings and in napalming villages, the UK did the same firebombing German cities when fighting the Nazis. It’s my belief that NAYOYO decided to fight this war in ethnic Russia areas so that death and destruction would be blamed on Russia. NAYOYO knew AFU could not survive open battles against Russia after being mauled in 2015 by units that had deserted from the AFU. So they needed human shields to protect AFU units. Secondarily, they hoped that terrorist ethnic cleansing of Russians would advance their Lebensraum goals.
Claims of ‘One Thousand’ civilians are revealed as pure propaganda. This is a cynical attempt to shield AFU terrorists by holding civilians hostage in exchange for supplies or evacuation. This a clear war crime for which the survivors and their commanders must be charged and severely punished.
Elements of the UN and ICRC have again revealed they are willing collaborators. The UN Secretary General reports 500 evacuated from surrounding territory, when 261 were evacuated in total from Azovstal. Fluffing the numbers is standard bureaucratic technique. It’s disgusting to claim the numbers were close to 1000, instead of propaganda, and a cynical war crime.
The UN’s contemptible failure to acknowledge Russian forces repeatedly opened humanitarian corridors, and the failure of AFU units to respect them. Allowing Zelenskiy’s government to claim credit for this operation, when they did everything to impede it, shows contempt for every notion of honesty and humanity. It shows US-NAYOYO, UN, ICRC bigotries deny Russia deserves respect for human emotions and acts. It makes the UN and ICRC clear conspirators in this and future war crimes against civilians.

There will always be losses in war, it’s the work of propagandists to try to make the most of those! However, the key thing in real war is to meet the objectives and goals. Those are clear from the Russian side, from the start, to liberate the Lugansk and Donetsk territories. Lugansk is pretty well there and the slow grind continues in Donetsk. Now just as The UK lost ships, aircraft… in the War of the Falkland’s. They still reached the goal of clearing the Island of Argentinians. This is the reality of war, there are losses as you strive for your goals. The armchair generals don’t ever get this part of warfare. Russia is demilitarising Ukraine but they are fighting against all of NATO who are resupplying it. Russia is taking on all of the NATO nations which have the highest standards of living in the world and whose people make up one third of the world’s population, plus their ISIS lackeys.
The Ukrainian military apparatus is continously replenished by the US and it’s vassals. But the Russians just keep smashing it. The US seems to be using the complex strategy of “Space Invaders” with their Ukrainian puppet.
So in terms of demilitarising Ukraine, the idea was to make sure it was not an existential threat to Russia. That has been achieved, a few guys slugging away on front lines or running around in pick up trucks is not an existential threat to Russia – Goal Achieved! In terms or removing the NATO threat of stationing forces and missiles there capable of projecting an existential threat on Russia. Again Russia is bombing anything they wish there. NATO cannot and will not establish a platform there based on current conditions, which Russia can easily maintain indefinitely – Again goal achieved. However, in terms of denazification I think that has not been achieved and is indeed worse in Ukraine – they are even more Nazi now. So I don’t get the plan there – is the plan to take out Nazis in Ukraine with operational squads….. – Goal failed at the moment. Then the last goal liberation of Dombas, it’s likely that the Russians will grind out that success, however with Lugansk mostly liberated and Kherson a bonus – at the moment it’s Goal partially achieved. So the Message should be, get the territorial goals complete, then keep pressure and actions concentrated on continuing killing Ukrainian Nazis.
Denazification has to come from inside and cannot be done before nazi armed formations are beaten up on the battlefield which equals to demilitarisation. Ukraine and her “friends” had long 8 years to prepare “terrain” for this war but they all played their bets on Azov battalion fanatics and their “state of art” weapons to win it but while the battle can be won by the brute force the wars are won by the strategy of the winner. The Russians don’t need to be so messy. Siege warfare is time-costly and manpower intensive, but effective if they want facilities intact for whatever reason.
However, a few thermobaric warheads dropped down vents and set in captured entrances and tunnels would clear the underground city fairly quickly.
Thermobarics work best on such cave-like complexes, especially older ones not designed to resist fuel-air explosives. Barring extensive compartmentalization with airtight blast doors, there’s no escaping the pressure wave.
