According lo local reports, another earthquake of magnitude 6.0 was recorded in the central region of Turkey, where earthquakes of magnitude 7.7 had previously thundered.
“According to the latest data, 912 of our citizens were killed and 5385 of our citizens were injured. 2,470 people were found surviving under the rubble. We do not know how much the number of dead and injured will increase, as the work on dismantling the rubble continues,” President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said.
The President indicated that 2,818 buildings were destroyed. According to Erdogan, nine thousand people are involved in the rescue operation.
As a result of the earthquake in Syria, 326 people were killed and 1,042 were injured, the country’s Ministry of Health reported.
On February 6, an earthquake of magnitude 7.4 took place in the province of Kahramanmaraş in southeastern Turkey. According to Turkish specialists, the earthquake may become one of the most destructive in the country in decades.

The death toll in the country has already reached 313 people. At least 639 people were injured. The provinces of Latakia, Aleppo, Hama and Tartu were most affected.
UN World Heritage Site Aleppo Citadel was damaged by earthquake, according to Syrian Museums Department.
The earthquake were felt in many areas of Lebanon, including Beirut and the Bekaa Valley. There were no reports of damage or casualties. Tremors were also felt in Baghdad.
The Italian Civil Protection Department has warned of the danger of a tsunami in the south of the country, in particular off the coast of the southern region of Calabria, Apulia and Sicily. The locals were recommended to move away from coastal areas and follow the instructions of local authorities.
