Hundreds of displaced civilians returned on September 15 to their homes in the newly-liberated town of Murak in the northern Hama countryside.
The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported that the locals returned through a corridor, which was reopened by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA).
“A batch of locals from the southern Idlib countryside of arrived at the Murak corridor, returning to their areas liberated by the SAA from terrorism,” the state-run news agency added in its report.
Earlier this month, thousands of locals returned to their homes in the key town of Khan Shaykhun north of Murak. The SAA also facilitate the process.
Murak, Khan Shaykhun and many other towns were liberated from al-Qaeda Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and its allies last month in a large-scale military operation. This has allowed thousands of locals, who were forcibly displaced in the early years of the war, to return to their towns and villages.
