Hundreds of militants, who rejected to lay down their arms and take part in the peace agreement with the Syrian government, have left al-Waer district in Homs province.

Reportedly, the first group, consisting of 300 militants and 1,065 civilians, has already left al-Waer neighborhood, heading off to the northeastern Aleppo’s countryside.

As social networks’ activists reported, 30 buses arrived on Saturday’s morning in al-Waer, located in Homs province, in order to transport its residents. Photos from the area, published online, show servicemen of the Russian military police, assisting the evacuation. Reportedly, they will be deployed in the neighborhood after all militants leave it.

According to the agreement, concluded by the Syrian Army and militant groups in the region, in total, 1,500-2,000 militants should be transferred to Jerablus, located in the eastern parts of Aleppo.

The next stages of the agreement will be implemented in the next few days.

On Tuesday, Governor General of Homs province, Talal Barazi, said that militants, who refused to lay down their arms and join the peace agreement, would be evacuated from al-Waer very soon. He also noted that the evacuation, which is scheduled to be started on March 18, would be held in several stages under monitoring of the military police’s forces and the Red Cross. Barazi said that the evacuation operation will take from 6 to 8 weeks, adding that 500 militants and their families’ members would leave al-Waer in each phase of the evacuation.

Homs province has strategic importance for the Syrian Army and the country’s government, as it connects northern provinces to the south. Army’s control over Homs would fully cut off the most important communication lines between militants, stationed in the southern part of Syria, and their comrades in the northern part of the Arab country.

Homs is finally free of the Jihadist! Let them get a ride on the green buses for sure. Will this create more mayhem in Idlib province? More infighting and dead Jihadist is a good thing.

Barba_Papa

I read on a Dutch news site they were being taken to Jarablus, So Turkish occupied Syria, not Idlib.

Whoever owns that green bus company must be doing a lot of good business lately. Lots of Jihadis and their families that have needed transportation.

PZIVJ1943

If Turkey rerouted buses to there “safe zones” that’s fine. I have not heard much news about Erdogan and his FSA dogs screwing with SAA lately. Maybe that Erdodog was shut down in Moscow talks. I will tax your wheat!

Bill Wilson

I believe Russia ceased importing anything from Turkey until recently. Now they just let in certain citrus fruits which pass a certain smell test. Dunno if that means they’re grown organically or have been deloused of pests before shipment.

John Whitehot

Erdogan is currently crazy as fuck @Merkel and @EU in general. Probably they refused to support him against Russia in his Syrian adventure. Such a pity, after the billions he spent in arming and financing his dirty civil war.

Bill Wilson

The article states they’re being transported to Jerablus, which is probably why all of them look happy in the photographs. Doubt if they even asked to be transported to Idlib since the various extremist factions there have been fighting each other for control of their little piece of the province.

For sure Erdogan wants to revive the Ottoman Empire. That was easy for him to carve off that big chunk of Syria land. How dare they allow him that easy way. Russia should have forcefully come out against that, but they didn’t and here we go.

Trustin Judeau

He wants but the ES mission have failed .What Erdogan has in Syria is more useless that Southern Front in Daraa .He wants more territory but he cant get it.Manbij and Efrin are protected by USA and Russia.Yesterday Russian delegation was in Efrin .

DJ Double D

Thanks for clarification. Even so, I hope the SAA won’t allow him to transform that section of Syria land to another Cyprus and may even annex it. Turkey is already a very big country by land mass, and still Erdogan’s taste has no limit. There was a deal for Russia to take control of some buffer land near Efrin but the deal fell through. Hopefully that Delegation is for same purpose.

Trustin Judeau

Elijah says that ES territory will go the goverment in the next 5 – 10 years

Dejan

There are reports that rebels started offesive in east Damascus and that they broke siege of Qaboun, is it true??

Trustin Judeau

No .They started offensive but they havent broken the siege.SAA launched counterattack and recaptured some positions https://twitter.com/MIG29_/status/843447561688092676. And SAA should have cleared Eastern Ghouta months ago.

John Whitehot

easy? he just invaded areas already held by both its moderates and less-moderate friends. It was less than easy actually. Wait until Turkey will have to either give back the territory to its rightful owner, the Assad administration, or fight to keep it.

DJ Double D

I hope they fight for it for he will not simply hand it back. This was unnecessary opportunity given to him to have a foothold in Syria and now it will get worse, for Erdogan made it clear that his intention is to topple Assad.

These jihadi terrorists should NOT be allowed to get away safely like this. This is stupid and insane. Wiping these jihadis out is much more important than “taking control as soon as possible” of a small area of bombed-out urban wasteland.

Samuel Boas

Oh and where does the SAA gets those soldiers from in order to kill those thousands of soldiers? They simply are already too spread out. This way they can focus their powers on Idlib when the other areas are liberated.

Spunkyhunk

Just bomb the shit out of them first before sending in the soldiers – and to hell with what the Western MSM will say. They are openly supporting the jihadis and making up lies and propaganda on a daily basis anyway. Sparing these terrorists’ lives now, ensures that even more lives will be lost in the future (quite apart from the “necessary punishment for all they’ve done” aspect of it all). These are not suddenly turning into peaceful farmers in Idlib, or wherever it is that they’re sent to. They will rest, recuperate, be rearmed, reorganized, retrained, reinstructed by foreign advisers, and be thrown back into the fight (probably at the worst possible moment for the Syrian side). It’s necessary, above all, to decimate the manpower of the jihadi terrorists.

“This way they can focus their powers on Idlib when the other areas are liberated.”

But WILL the other areas be liberated so easily, though – and will the ones in Idlib sit still and passive while the Syrian government oh-so-slowly liberates the other areas? Israel, for example, has already started bombing the Syrian troops trying to liberate some areas around Palmyra.

Thegr8rambino

as long as SAA doesnt give up, these jihadists will die eventually in battle

Vido Dasler

They soon will show up on the European borders.

MeMadMax

They’re going to idlib, not northeastern aleppo… >_>
