The head of the IAEA says the mission could happen within a few days

A UN official said Tuesday that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has renewed its request to visit the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) in Ukraine, which is under Russian control and has been the target of recent shelling.

UN political chief Rosemary DiCarlo announced that IAEA chief Rafael Grossi has requested to send IAEA inspectors to the plant. The inspection is expected to happen within a few days if negotiations with Russia and Ukraine succeed.

“Preparations for the mission are proceeding and the IAEA is in active consultations with all parties regarding its efforts to send such a mission as soon as possible,” DiCarlo said at a UN Security Council Meeting.

“We welcome Ukraine and Russia’s recent statements indicating support for the IAEA’s aim to send a mission to the plant, which would be the IAEA’s first to that site since the start of the war,” DiCarlo added.

Vasily Nebenzya, Russia’s permanent representative to the UN, said Tuesday that he expects the IAEA mission to happen in the “very near future.” Russia has previously said it agreed to an IAEA inspection of the ZNPP back in June and accused the UN of blocking the mission, a claim the UN has denied.

Nebenzya said that the situation at the ZNPP has deteriorated due to frequent Ukrainian shelling. “The armed forces of Ukraine continue basically every day to shell the territory of the nuclear power plant and the town of Enerhodar and this creates a real risk of a radiation accident,” he said.

Ukraine has accused Russia of being behind the shelling of the ZNPP, but Moscow has little to gain from attacking a nuclear power plant that its forces control. The UN has asked for Russia to demilitarize the plant, but Moscow has rejected the call, saying it would leave the ZNPP more vulnerable to Ukrainian attacks.

Ukraine also said it welcomed the IAEA’s plans to inspect the plant. “Further arrangements are to be made based on the security conditions and require communication of detailed route plans and other logistical aspects as soon as possible,” said Ukraine’s UN Ambassador Sergiy Kyslytsya.

The IAEA mission is expected to travel to the ZNPP through Ukrainian-controlled territory. DiCarlo said that the UN has the security capability in Ukraine “to support any IAEA mission to the plant from Kyiv, provided Ukraine and Russia agree.”

IAEA dicking around trying to delay. Western media would have you believe it was them asking Putin to get in and only started last week, where as all evidence shows, it was Russia who invited the iaea, and they did it a month ago. They also like to obscure the fact that Russia has been in control of the area since March.

Moscow’s preference is to avoid any escalation, since the special military operation is achieving results. Whereas, it is the US that is in some visible despair, and in immediate terms, Russia’s plans to hold referendums in Kherson and Zaporozhye in September must be stalled. Herein lies the danger.

The US’ current build-up over Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant points toward a hidden agenda to intervene in the war at some point directly. Kiev’s attempt to arrange a nuclear explosion in Zaporozhye can only be seen in this light. Moscow seems to anticipate such an eventuality.

I think the time when the US could get away with major false flag operations, like an attack on the Europe’s largest nuclear power plant, is something that belongs to the past. The internet would very quickly put the blame on the US and Nato, and be able to prove it as well. No doubt about that. And that, folks, would be the end of that evil organisation (Nato/Otan) and quite possible of the US as well, at least as a major player on the world stage. They would have some serious explaining to do, and they would not be able dig them selves out of a massive hole like that. It goes without saying that the entire government in Washington would have to resign.

Indeed i doubt the visit will take place then they will blame the Russians, all these bodies like the UN OPCW have been infiltrated by the Reich,if the IAEA actually do visit the site they would have to tell the truth about whats gone on,and the Reich can’t have that can it?

thoughtful

The visit may take place and they will still blame the Russians

I would also expect the low brow ukrops to expedite as many penetrations as possible to again cover up their litany of war crimes being recorded and forwarded to the UN. In the end, all the wanted Nazis will be dead and Ukrainians will utter the same phrases Germans spoke for the past 75 years “it was them” “we had no choice” “we didn’t know” etc. all the scripted lies.

I hope they really enjoyed their last independence day!

Hahahahaha

The only thing these “neutral UN” guys will do is get target intel for the ukrainians. Thats what all ngo’s do in every war the west has stakes in. Collect taret intel for the empire.

Western agency’s must all be shutdown and deligitimised. Mind you they do a fabulous job themselves. Look at Boris the English imbecile who believes he is leading the Western democracies. When in fact it’s just cover for US imperialism and subjugation. Then comes there UN, NED, CFR, USAID, WEF, Atlanta Council, Bilderburg etc… They are crumbling under their own evil intent.

Britain is behind the wars in Iraq, Syria, Libya, Ukraine the former Yugoslavia, NI, in cohoots with France and the US. The expected spoils are already claimed.

They were also responsible for the Chernobyl disaster. One of their many dark secrets

Why do I think that this is a mistake? Is the IAEA corrupt, bought or being leant on?

And what will any of this prove? Nothing, just more globalist involvement and nonsense that appeals so much to the false Peter crowd in Moscow.

If they try to enter from Ukraine the same old refrain of “its not safe” will halt any crossing of lines. Ukrops don’t like their crimes televised or published. They will do anything to stop the inspections. so predictable.
