Idlib civilians started leaving the militant-held area via humanitarian corridors (Abu al-Duhour in southeastern Idlib, al-Habbit in southern Idlib, and al-Hader in southern Aleppo) opened in the framework of the January 12 ceasefire agreement.
According to Syria’s SANA news agency, local authorities and army units made all necessary preparations to receive civilians wishing to leave terrorist-infested areas, with buses, ambulances, and food supplies being prepared.

Sadly underwhelming numbers in the pictures. I hope more make it out. The only question I would have for the people in this picture is how the hell they managed to sneak through miles of US-backed al Qaeda head-choppers to even make it to the exit checkpoint? They should get a medal for that!
A few military-aged men, too. Good sign as they are legal Syrians and know they will have their status settled and return to normal (relatively-speaking) civilian life, possibly after satisfying their obligatory Syrian military service. That usually means a year as a guard or other non-combat role. In some cases, the SAA considers their circumstances and just signs off on their obligation as fulfilled.

So, by the numbers in the pictures, these are the ONLY people ALLOWED to leave according to the TERRORISTS who need Human Shields to hide behind when the bullets start flying. Pity, but if you side with terrorists you will only ever be considered as meat.
This seems like a disappointing result doesn’t it, but is it really a disappointing result, not really, it was actually expected. Civilians wanting to leave don’t necessarily have to leave using the humanitarian corridors, the smart ones will probably use their own routes out, the routes they know and trust, and that’s because they’re locals who know the area and the terrorists who occupy it, they know where the terrorists are, the landmines and checkpoints are, and the quickest and safest route to get to safety. Every cloud has a silver lining and this seemingly dark cloud has one too. the glass half empty people will see this result as a bad sign, but the glass half full people will see this as possibly meaning something else. More than half the people in Idlib are locals so they may not want to move away from their homes, and they possibly may not have to either, not everybody will be directly affected by the fighting, so it may actually be safer to stay put until you know you do have to move, then just move if you have to, and move back in when you can. Move in with your cousin a few km’s away from the fighting for a while, then move back in when the fightings finished. Am I being too optimistic, I don’t think so, this is more like a Darra/Quneitra scenario then a Ghoutah scenario, in the southern areas the civilians will find it much easier to stay safe and remain in their homes or near their homes, the further north we get the harder that will be, near the Turkish border it’ll be impossible, the border areas will be a repeat of Ghoutah when we get there. So don’t be disheartened by the lack of people using the corridors, it’s not necessarily a bad sign.
