On January 9, three logistic supply convoys of the US-led coalition came under attack in Iraq’s central and southern regions.
The first coalition convoy was targeted with an improvised explosive device (IED) in the central city of Hilla. No human losses were reported as a result of the attack.
The Sabereen News, a Telegram channel with links to Shiite armed groups, said a faction dubbed the “International Resistance” claimed responsibility for the attack. The faction was also behind an attack on a coalition supply convoy in the city of Samarra on January 4.
The second and third convoys were attacked in the southern Iraqi city of al-Nasiriyah. Both convoys were targeted with IEDs. The attacks didn’t result in any human losses.
Another attack was reportedly foiled by security forces on January 10. An Iraqi security source told the al-Ain News TV that an IED, which was planted on the al-Muthanna-Dhi Qar highway to target a supply convoy of the US-led coalition, was removed.

- On January 9, a new antigovernment protest erupted in Nasiriyah city. Five people were arrested and two were killed in the protests.
The unrest in Iraq today is a direct result of the assassination of Iran’s Quds Force Commander, Maj. Gen. Qassim Soleimani, and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, Deputy-Commander of the Popular Mobilization Units more than a year ago. US troops and the diplomatic mission in the country are under a permanent threat.

Maybe we’ll one day see it in action against a future Bayraktar design. Can’t wait to read the news that Russia has deployed this weapon in Libya through Haftar.
These are for smaller drones (drone swarms), for Byraktar TB (flying on 6 km above ) they use different stuff from this, mainly short range missiles like Tor, Pantsir. One should not confuse things…what Russia can do militarily is one thing and what they do politically is another. Sometimes I can’t understand why they do things the way they do.

That attack will come one day, even if not by Trump. As long as Iran continues pushing its proxies to overthrow the Arab regimes, as long as Iran continues destabilizing Muslim communities via its sectarian terrorist practices, as long as Iran continues to threaten Israel with destruction, as long as Iran continue to threaten America with expulsion from the middle east, as long as Iran continues to compete with America in the region, as long as Iran doesn’t give up its pipe dream of taking over Islam’s holy sites, THIS WAR WILL HAPPEN. The war almost happened in January of 2020, but you cowards backed down. Besides, Trump’s tenure is not officially over yet. And I never said he would DEFINITELY attack Iran. It isn’t over with Trump for Iran, until Trump leaves the white house. And even then, I predict a rocky dealing between Biden and Iran. After Soleimani’s death, the regional game has changed permanently. Iran cannot afford to ignore this assassination and behave like pre-JCPOA. It’ll be more aggressive, and most likely miscalculate. War on Iran is not an issue of IF but WHEN.
