On June 9, an improvised explosive device expluded detonated near a Russian military police patrol vehicle in Syria’s Kobani. According to the Russian reconciliation center, unidentified persons tried to stop the Russian military police patrol.
“An explosive device detonated when the vehicle was making an U turn at its final destination. No one was hurt in the explosion,” the spokesperson said commenting on the incident.
Following the incident, the patrol returned to its pernanent location base in the area.
Earlier, pro-Kurdish sources claimed that several Russian military personnel were injured and then evacuated by helicopters. These reports appeared to be untrue. Military helicopters likely flew to the area to cover the patrol retreat from the incident site.
