A backstage video of an interview with AFU Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi is circulating on the web, in which he vigorously broadcasts how he will return the 1991 state borders. The interview is interrupted by an alleged call from Vladimir Zelensky.
During the conversation, Syrskyi is tasked with capturing a populated area for a propaganda campaign. The commander-in-chief tries to explain that there are not enough resources for such an operation and “the front may collapse”. However, Syrskyi’s arguments do not work.
“Greetings. Sir, yes sir… We don’t have the manpower on that section of the front… I doubt that the expected effect will justify the losses … Even if we occupy the settlement, there will be no one to hold it … We risk collapsing the front… I got it. I will do it.”
After the telephone conversation Syrskyi says:
“I’m sick of that clown!… Half the country is dead because of his whims. We’ll bury 200 more people for the sake of a pretty picture… Circus of freaks”.
The commander-in-chief ends his indignation by saying that with such orders “we will be buried by our own people”, after which he orders to continue filming.
As for the authenticity of the video, media outlets cite information from the so-called Center for Countering Disinformation, according to which the video is a “Polish deepfake”. They say that the Poles are preparing for the change of the White House administration on an emergency basis, in connection with which they need to explain to their own people that Ukraine will not return to the 1991 borders because of internal contradictions and corruption.
In fact, Poland is not the only country that is ready to write off Zelensky as an inconvenient asset in the conflict on the territory of Ukraine and to attribute to him the reasons for the failure of pro-Western forces. Among other things, NATO member states may plan to blame Zelensky for condoning mass war crimes, unprecedented corruption, and the actual creation of an open-air concentration camp on Kyiv-controlled territory.
There are other opinions that the video is of extremely high quality and does not look like a deepfake video. In this case, the version of the deepfake may be an attempt by the Kyiv propaganda to cover up the scandal with the leaked backstage video.
