An online campaign to promote the British Royal Navy, NavyLookout, has released a new snapshot of Royal Navy surface escorts providing a look at their locations and tasks. 9 vessels are curerntly active, 3 are in ports and 5 are undergoing maintenance.
Surprised that the UK still has that many ships.
Well, you really want to physically see them and confirm that they are operative, Brits are good at fabricating.
Yeah. After it’s empirical stage replaced by the US one UK is just one small country in the Europe. They have their high degree of technological advantage and industry but they just can’t beat the powerhouse that have larger territory and resources.
19 frigates and destroyers, people. That’s all that remains of Britannia rules the waves. A century ago the Royal Navy had almost double that number IN BATTLESHIPS ALONE.
I shudder to think how many surface ships the Dutch navy has in comparison. It has to be just as bad, if not worse..
4 frigates only….
They’ll quite possibly sell off more vessels yet, before the F-35 carrier program takes its full toll on the UK naval budget.
Lol, I agree. We haven’t seen anything yet!
