Important breakthroughs in the fight against Daesh

Ground and air operations led by the Syrian army and its allies have effectively targeted important venues formerly under control of Daesh militants all over the Islamic nation.

On Wednesday, a report made by the official Syrian news agency SANA informed that several locations seized by militants of the terrorist organization had been pounded by the airstrikes carried out by Syrian fighter jets in villages like Al-Bab and some others in the northeastern outskirts of Aleppo province. About 70 militants were killed during the operations.

Also, command posts of the jihadists were targeted in Eastern Ghouta in the outsides of the capital city Damascus. As a result of cited operations, several sites in the same region have been liberated from the control of the extremists.

Jaish al-Fatah terrorists were also under attack of the Syrian forces that managed to airstrike gathering centers of the group in Kafr Zita, Jub al-Rayan and Kafr Nabudah in Hama’s northern rural area. There are reports that claim that the same terrorist organization also suffered important losses in Idlib.

Syrian army encircles Aleppo as ceasefire talks fade

Masqan and Eras, both strategic villages in the northern area of Aleppo province, were liberated on Monday by the Syrian army. In regards to this operation, the military of the Islamic republic released a footage showing the maneuvers.

Al-Tiba, in the eastern outskirts of Aleppo, and Kafar Naya, located 15 miles north of Aleppo city were also regained by the government’s forces in coordinated operations with fighters of popular units. Breakthroughs of the Syrian military forces backed by the Russian aircrafts are notorious allover Syrian territory, but especially in Aleppo province, where important hideouts of Daesh and other jihadi groups have been liberated.

Omran al-Zoubi, Syrian Minister of information, stated on declarations made on February the 10th, that there’s still a long and tough battle to regain the control of the country’s largest city (Aleppo), however, it’s just a matter of time for the government forces to have full power over the zones that are currently under control of the jihadists in the province.

Syria has been affected by the expansion of foreign-backed extremist groups since 2011, when a war to destabilize the government of President Bashar al-Assad started. Since then, the armed conflict has left about 470 000 fatalities, some 1. 9 million injured, almost half of the total population of the country displaced internally or abroad as a result of the escalation of violence in several regions of the nation, as reported by the Syrian Center for Policy Research.
