As previewed last night, this morning the US Air Force confirmed that another unarmed Minuteman III ICBM missile capable of sending a nuclear bomb across the world was launched early on Wednesday from California’s Vanderberg Air Force base, in what was a second clear signal of nuclear deterrence aimed squarely at North Korea and took place one week after the US test fired another ICBM under identical circumstances.
The unarmed Minuteman 3 intercontinental ballistic missile blasted off from a silo at 12:02 a.m. from Vandenberg Air Force Base and delivered a single re-entry vehicle to a target approximately 4,200 miles away at Kwajalein Atoll in the Pacific Ocean, the Air Force Global Strike Command said. The test, which reprotedly took 10 months to plan, was the latest designed “to check the readiness and accuracy of a weapon system that forms part of the U.S. nuclear force” but in reality was the second strong message sent to Kim Jong-Un in the span of one week.

Airmen from Malmstrom and Vandenberg Air Force bases conducted an operational test launch of an unarmed Minuteman III missile. The test launch used an intercontinental ballistic missile pulled randomly from a silo on Malmstrom Air Force Base, which was then transported and reassembled at Vandenberg, and launched by crew members from the 341st Missile Wing. The ICBM was equipped with a single test reentry vehicle, and traveled approximately 4,200 miles to a test range near the Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands. These ICBM test launches verify the accuracy and reliability of the weapon system, providing valuable data to ensure a safe, secure and effective nuclear deterrent.
So, when the Norks launch an ICBM missile test the whole world erupts in protest and calls it a provocation akin to a declaration of war. When the US does it, and shows it on video, you can basically hear the tumbleweeds rolling through the media.
Not that I trust the Norks or think that highly of them, but double standard much? Also, if even the most premier armed to the teeth nation has to conduct ICBM missile tests, how can we expect the immensely more primitive Norks to work out the kinks in their ICBM’s without any testing? I mean, yeah, its bad that they have nukes which they want to launch at the US if necessary, but it wouldn’t do for those nukes to be launched and fall somewhere completely different by accident. Like on my place.
NK is OK, they don’t invade other countries, regime change, proxy wars of poison the population with genetically modified food or destroy water tables, rivers and lakes with toxic polutants. US does though.
Technically NK did invade another country though, the South, in 1950. And has one of the largest land armies in the world at the ready to do so again.

Brag about +40 years old equipment, if US was to use them, I am sure N. Korea can manage to drop a couple of nuclear warheads on S. Korea, depending how well their subs are positioned they could present the US navy with some unexpected surprises

nonody saw nuclear warheads from NK. 1 thing is makinng bumms under the ground, second is to miniaturize the whole equipment. i doubt, NK has the technology.
They had underground nuclear explosionos in order to have an explosion you need a weapon that will detonate. The size is not certain, however, they have some Scud missiles that can carry the payload, or they can launch it from an aircraft. They need to move the bomb around 100 miles or less in order to strike S.Korea.

What difference doe as it make if it is 10ktns or 50ktns or 100 ktns? A 10 ktns bomb would do significant damage in Seoul. Early version Scuds could carry a payload of over 750 kgs. Payload is dependent on range.

I am talking about passing the nuclear treshold, in my opinion a NK 50ktn warhead could weigh 500-700 kgs.

You do not know the size, actual dimensions of their nuclear bombs. It could be either Scud or airdropped from an aircraft. The devevelopment of NK nuclear weapons doe not have to follow the same curve of development as US or Russia.

Yes, nobody has ever provided irrefutable evidence of NK actually detonating Nukes [underground]. No sniffer plane has ever caught airborne nuclear particles over NK, because nobody ever sent a plane to do just that. Only last month, April, 2017, the WC-135 Constant Phoenix arrived in Japan to do such a thing. The registered tremors after these ‘tests’ started out with the lowest numbers ever put on record. They have been increasing over the years.
NK is bluffing. It doesn’t have nukes. It explodes copious amounts of dynamite underground and proclaims to successfully have detonated a ‘nuke.’
China does not want US bases on its borders, so it uses NK as a buffer zone.
However, with conventional weaponry, the NK can destroy Seoul and lots of other cities in South Korea, within range of its artillery [mostly fixed] and rockets/missiles [provided they can be launched and don’t misfire, like the last 2 launches did].
As NK sees South Korea as part of its own territory, occupied by the US and run like a vassal, the way it can be seen in Japan and Germany and with a peace treaty never signed, it effectively is still at war with the occupiers.
