The Russian Navy’s Admiral Kuznetsov heavy aircraft-carrying missile cruiser damaged in fire in 2019 will embark on its sea trial in 2022, according to Russia’s state-run media.

The Admiral Kuznetsov will reportedly be docked again in the summer of 2021 and will be then set for sea trials, namely in 2022.

TASS reported the following:

The fire aboard the aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov broke out during repair works in Murmansk in December 2019.

As the emergency services reported, the fire could have started due to the violation of safety rules during wielding work. The fire engulfed an area of 500 square meters. Two persons were killed and 14 injured in the fire.

A source in the shipbuilding industry told TASS on January 30 that the fire aboard Russia’s sole aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov in December 2019 had damaged some electric power cables.

So during this repair process where the Su-33 ve MiG-29KR/KUBR pilots will continue their training,take-off practices ….China Liaoning carrier?

Dick Von Dast'Ard

Nagurskoye (air base) would be the location where I’d station the Su-33’s. (possibly permanently)

HiaNd

On Crimea normally. Crimea has specialized airport facility (built by USSR) for training air-carrier pilots (take off “deck” (“ski-jump”) is identical to that of the carrier).

JIMI JAMES

No problem.

occupybacon

The ship with a name longer than itself that just doesn’t work.

JIMI JAMES

Well yes and no!

Dick Von Dast'Ard

Most interesting aspect pf the refurbishment, I’d suggest here, is whether the heavy cruiser carrier (TAVKR) will continue to have VLS for SSM’s? (a capability that makes the ship far more dangerous than any CVF)

Jesus

Yes it will, the Granit missiles will be replaced by VLS for Kalibr, Oniks and Zircon missiles. Similar modernization for battle cruisers Nahimov and Peter the Great. Great platforms for anti ship missiles in great numbers.

Dick Von Dast'Ard

Certainly allows the warship to have a very long range stand-off strike attack capability, essentially the vessel does the job of three ships combined, a CVF, CG and DDG.

BMWA1

You might put a disclaimer or warning about this vid for our more delicate readers like Great Khan…the crowd appears to be giving voice to curse words during their dekko into the Capitol Buildings.

rightiswrong rightiswrong

That was like Stalingrad, vicious hand to hand, shakes and selfies.

lol

Fog of War

Yes it was. Except for the foolish Trump supporters that got tricked walking into that trap and will now have their lived ruined.

rightiswrong rightiswrong

I would characterise them as pawns being invited into a den of snakes with an ulterior motive of evil intent by dark forces who controlled that building.

Was Jesus a fool for having dinner with Judas?

Go to Global Research and watch the video “Capitol Hill Fiasco”.

You need to see it.

Not to mention the climax moment when Paulus unfriended Chuikov on Facebook.

Watch “Capitol Hill Fiasco”, a video on Global Research.

Puts the” Babbit shooting” in a new light.

Lone Ranger

Hope it gets some naval S-400 and Tsirkon upgrade.

JIMI JAMES

The concept is nostalgic,These days there are far more efficient means to assymetrical warfare, But atleast they’ll end with an updated carrier, instead of relying on french politics for all it’s worth:

Jens Holm

They did so to my Grandmother, when she was too old for it.

But nice pics.

John Smith

Any ship or even fast boats can now operate drones, extending their versatility beyond past limitations. Carriers are now as obsolete as the dreadnoughts were at Jutland.
