Al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) continues to take advantage of Greater Idlib ceasefire by recruiting and training new fighters.
On March 20, HTS’ news network, Iba’a, released photos showing live fire drills by the group’s new recruits. The fighters were trained to conduct offensive operations and to use a variate of weapons, including heavy machine guns.

The terrorist group stepped up its recruitment and traning efforts following the March 5 Russia-Turkish agreement on Greater Idlib.
Last week, HTS launched a large recruitment campaign to revive its depleted special forces, known as the “Red Bands.” The group also asked for new volunteers in its Inghimasi force, a unit responsible for suicide attacks.
HTS is, without doubts, preparing for a possible military confrontation with the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies in Greater Idlib. The Russian-Turkish brokered agreement may collapse in a few weeks as Ankara is yet to fulfill any of its commitments.
All of this was totally expected for everybody, even for Russia.
No doubt that Turkey’s inability to PAY the damn head-choppers in Syria lately has hurt recruiting efforts a bit. Even Turkey’s Libyan mercs got ripped off, “Half every payday, and half when you get back…” FFS, are they really that stupid to believe a thief like Erdogan?
Syrian Army need some time to be ready for the next battle. Jihadists will attack first, to concentrate the fights in the south. After, in the east, the Turkish forces will trie to push in Alep direction. Syrians will have to stop both offensives (exemple of Saraqib). In that assumption, if they keep a huge fire power and enough reserves, they will organise a counterattack at the center of the front, and take Idlib.
HTS were never part of the ceasefire and if scum wish to float in their direction and improve humanity by blowing themselves up that is something all of them should aspire to. They should practise on themselves first so that they are really effective. I believe virgin goats are in short supply so Saudi Arabia should provide slightly used camels to make up the expected shortfall .
I hope the SAA is paying close attention to the organization and training of their enemies. It’s what Sun Tzu would do.
All do that. Russians and Assads only like ceasfire when they are out of soldiers and ammo.

I wouldn’t want to mess with these guys. On the other hand, the Assad regime conscripts young men from former rebel held areas and sends them to die for his wishes. Thousands upon thousands of young men have died because they were forced to die for Assad’s war against the Syrian people.
