On April 17, ISIS news agency, Amaq, shared photos of a recent attack by the group’s fighters in the Borno state in northeastern Nigeria.

The attack, which took place a day earlier, targeted a base of the Nigerian Armed Forces (NAF) in the town of Camuya. ISIS terrorists stormed the base after brief clashes with NAF troops, who quickly withdrew.

ISIS claimed that at least ten Nigerian service members were killed in the attack. However, the photos shared by Amaq show two dead bodies only.

The group said that its fighters captured three pickups along with loads of weapons and ammunition. The fighters also burned four battle tanks and an artillery piece before leaving the base. At least one T-72 battle tank, a CS-VP3 armored vehicle and a OTO Melara Mod 56 105 mm howitzer can bee seen in Amaq’s photos.

For the last few months, ISIS cells have been tirelessly working to expand their influence in Borno, especially in the area bordering Lake Chad.

The attack on Camuya base highlights the dangerous situation in Borno today. ISIS terrorists are becoming bolder. The group’s ex-branch, Boko Haram, is also stepping up its operations in the state.

What does this say about the Nigerian army when with all that equipment to use they RUN when the first shots are fired. They might as well hand over the whole area now.

Jihadi Colin

It says that they don’t want to die for Buhari.

The Nigerian army has always been a corrupt organisation, brutal against those who can’t fight back, shattering if confronted with resistance.
