Russian journalist Oleg Blokhin released a new series of photos showing Liwa al-Quds members and Russia-linked private military contractors (PMCs) in the area of Aleppo. The photos were reportedly taken after the end of training course, which Liwa al-Quds passed under a supervision of Russia-linked PMCs.

Ronald – Liwa al-Quds is yet another flavor of Palestinian Sunni militia. Obviously based in Syria, not Gaza. The group was originally Palestinians from the al-Nayrab Palestinian Refugee Camp (around Aleppo Airport), but has grown an has a lot of regular Syrian members now. Pro-Syrian; exists to exterminate various head-choppers or other uninvited guests threatening Syrians. Operates around Aleppo and Homs.

No relation with either Muslim Brotherhood linked Palestinian Hamas or (Wahhabi) Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement. In fact, they could even be fighting individual members of either of these two groups that have left Gaza to join head-chopper groups against Assad in Syria (but that’s uncommon).

Unlike the two Gaza Salafi Sunni extremist militias from the earlier post, Liwa al-Quds is NOT Salafi (AFAIK), they’re certainly not fighting for a caliphate or a Syrian Islamic state nor for Sharia law. They’re just protecting their current homes and neighbors in Syria… and happen to be Palestinian Sunni.

‘Sunni militia’ here, in the case of Liwa al-Quds, is NOT synonymous with ‘Salafi extremists’ or head-choppers.
