At least 6 people were injured (UPDATE: 16 people were injured) after a Russian Mi-8 helicopter made a hard landing in Siberia on December 25. The incident took place shortly after the Mi-8 took off in Russia’s central Krasnoyarsk Territory. A total of 24 people were unboard of the aircraft.
MI-8/17 is a very robust machine and has withstood operations in all types of environment and combat situations. It was a workhorse of the Red Army in Afghanistan. It is good that no fatalities occurred.
Indeed, it protected its passengers even as it crashed, a good job.
