It surely has a much higher radar signatur then the F35, just look at the intakes and the ailerons on the first pic – but at least it´s a probably a very capable fighter jet. As the Russians tend to operate where their own stationary radar capabilites are high – which comes along when not occupying foreign countries – the only competition coming close might be the F22. Which the US has in very little numbers and can´t produce anymore.
Stealth isn’t really a thing now there are better sensors and faster computers with more refined algorithms and neural nets. “Stealth” is only really useful for attacking those that can’t afford modern detection systems.
I´d say: exactly my point. In areas where the only radar capabilities available are the ones of the plane – the SU-57 would be inferior as it would detect the F35 later than the F35 the SU. BUT as the Russians would not operate in these conditions – the SU is the far better plane regarding it´s air combat capabilities.
Can’t wait for the day that the MiG-41 (the real deal ‘FireFox’) pics start being leaked into the public domain…
