In Response To New Rocket Attack On Hmeimim Airbase, Russian Warplanes Carry Out Series Of Airstrikes On Northern Lattakia

In the early hours of May 8, terrorists hiding along the Syrian-Turkish border launched several rockets at the Russian Hmeimim airbase in the western Syrian governorate of Lattakia.

Local sources said that the rockets missed their target and landed in civilian areas away from the airbase. No civilians were reportedly injured or killed.

In what appears to be a response to the rocket attack, warplanes of the Russian Aerospace Forces carried out a series of airstrikes on terrorists’ positions in the town of Kabani in the northern Lattakia countryside.

Kabani is an infamous stronghold for several terrorist groups, including the al-Qaeda-affiliated Turkistan Islamic Party (TIP), Ajnad al-Kavkaz (AK) and Horas al-Din.

A large, well-equipped force of the SAA’s 4th Division and the National Defense Forces (NDF) is currently stationed near Kabani. This force could launch a ground attack on the strategic town, if the attacks on Hmeimim went on. Such an attack will likely be a limited operation, similar to the ongoing one in northern Hama.

What limited operation?! With air and artillery attacks on all the Idlib’s arc, since Aleppo till Latakia?

HardHawk

of course it will be limited If it happens the Russians will not want to put on the spot their turkish partners. That be counter productive for the gas pipe they are building via turkey not to mention that they are the ones who arrange for all the scum of the earth to go to idlip and become a buffer zone for the turks in afrin and not only.

jorge

Keep trying hard, till the last inch to be liberated.

HardHawk

yes blind follower what ever you say.

Brother Ma

Unfortunately , I agree that Russia has been outmanouvred by the US and Turkey . The scum are still alive and breathing in Idlib under Turco command,Afrin is now part of Turkey and soon all of the frontier NE Syria will be Turco- controlled .

Winner :Turkey and Russia (limited) Losers: Syrian people and US.

jorge

Stop drinking, your mental health it’s in danger!

Brother Ma

Why? We normally agree don’t we. Yet ,I will not believe Russia is perfect and does not nake mistakes for Syria. What it is doing may be good for Russia but is it good for Syria or Russia’s reputation? I don’t think so.

Countries want to win wars, not be stuck in gridlock like now. Russia should have torched all Idlib jihadis or sent them packing to Erdoganistan and cleared all Turks out of Afrin. THEN it can be chums with Turkey if it wants!

jorge

We normally discuss. My opinion, Syrians and Russians have prepared their offensive and there’s no chance of stopping it, all the rest is bla, bla, bla. As Promitheas says, time will show who is right

Brother Ma

I hope you are right and I am wrong. I want to see all headchoppers and Turks out of Syria or dead in Syria!

jorge

And don’t forget the Golan Heights.

Johnson Malarkey

@disqus_jkO1Co65pw:disqus I’d really like to see BB Netanyahu pack his nukes and leave Golan Heights to Syrians. Until then, it’s de facto Israeli territory whether we like it or not.

HardHawk

you seem to be confused some how. It is not exactly as you saying it but you do use what is happening to give your own interpretation. Time will show you the error of your conclusions. As for usa be a winner…… I dont think they do better than they did in the past and soon they make the fatal move that we all waiting for them to do. They are not very bright and their handlers are even less than they are.

Brother Ma

I hope you are right but I am still waiting .eight years now since 2011 and what, five since Russia came in?

HardHawk

I dont know if I am right or wrong as the game has yet to be played. What we observed up to now is the opposing sides positioning themselves, in what they consider strategic locations on the globe, always using proxies not their own main forces.

So what ever conclusion you are making right now is due to be wrong. Nothing it is as it appears to be on the surface.

Rob

This is worst condition for American proxies. I haven’t seen this year before.
