In Video: 19 Airstrikes Hit ISIS Hideouts In Northern Iraq

RB-01 Iraq F-16 First Flight over Fort Worth, Texas. Pilot Paul ‘Bear’ Randall, and backseat Bill ‘Gigs’ Gigliotti.

On March 25 and 26, the Iraqi Air Force (IQAF) carried out a series of airstrikes on hideouts of ISIS in the country’s northern region.

Yehia al-Rasool, a spokesman for the Iraqi Commander-in-Chief, said that IQAF F-16 fighter jets carried out 19 airstrikes on caves and dens in the Hamrin Mountains, which are located on the administrative border between the provinces of Saladin and Kirkuk.

ISIS cells used the targeted caves and dens as hideouts. The Iraqi Ministry of Defense released a video showing one of the airstrikes on the Hamrin Mountains.

Earlier this month, IQAF warplanes struck a network of ISIS hideouts between northern Saladin and the southern parts of Kirkuk with ten munitions. Seven terrorists were killed in the airstrikes.

Hamrin Mountains is a known stronghold of ISIS cells, which are active in Saladin and Kirkuk. The terrorists massacred eight people near the city of Tirkri in Saladin on March 10.

The IQAF has been supporting Iraqi government forces with high efficiency. The air force success eliminates the need for support from the US-led coalition.
