Saudi Arabia is the country of freedom, democracy… and fight against drug trafficking.
In early 2020, Saudi authorities declared that they have foiled an attempt to smuggle 20 million amphetamine tablets into the country. According to the spokesperson of the General Directorate for Narcotics Control, Captain Muhammad Bin Khaled Al-Najidi, the proactive security follow-up of the activities of criminal networks that smuggle narcotic substances into the Kingdom resulted in foiling an attempt to smuggle about 20,190,500 amphetamine tablets hidden inside a grapes shipment.
Jeddah Port was in the center of the investigation.
Captain Khaled Al-Najidi stated that 8 people involved in these operations were arrested inside the Kingdom.
The only problem in this successful security story is that the real drug trafficking scale in Saudi Arabia is much higher and the seized batch is just a drop in the ocean.
Frankly, it hardly a secret that the whole al-Saud family are drug addicts and drug pushers. The headchoppers in Syria are supplied these drugs by the al-Saud pushers personally.

Wow! 20mn amph tablets in one single shipment are a LOT!! That’s very bad and a sign of real danger for their youth.

Drugs shipping/moving here in Iran has changed significantly. In the past it was common to find 5-10 tonnes of opium or 1-2 tonnes of Heroin in a single semi. Now the amount is about 4-5 kilos of Opium and 200gr of Heroin or Hashish well hidden within a sedan’s body, tires, fuel tank or exhaust pipe. The best American-grown or made Opium, Heroin or Hashish money can buy right on our doorsteps.
Garga, crystal meth and fentanyl is so cheap now, nobody wants expensive coke or heroine anymore…..Chinese are pumping it in the US by the ton! It’s destroying the US society. Huge new problem. 100k deaths annually.
Do you live currently in Iran? True, finding real Cocaine is very hard but dirt-cheap Heroin is everywhere but it is no longer a white powder. Now all Heroins are Khaki or brown in colour, leaving a black burnt substance on the foil after usage and the user has to use Crystal to be able to overcome its effects. One must be out of their mind to inject it. There’s simply no way to filter it the way they used a cigarette filter in the past. The users are the absolute majority (>%95) of the homeless which Behzisti takes care of in clean warmhouses.
Seeing these chemical waste dubbed as drugs, one misses the old days when the worst thing was Opium.
No I live in many countries. No home anywhere anymore. Go where work takes me, but I’ve seen the situation in the US with the opioid crises. This Chinese fentanyl is a real killer. Its a thousand times more potent than Heroine. Almost a death sentence if you get hooked. With the economic deterioration in the US over the last couple of decades, both meth and this fentanyl have claimed millions of low income/ lower middle class lives. Wiped out entire neighborhoods. It’s a plague now……The Mexican cartels have gotten in on the action too and now produce it in makeshift labs in Tijuana. They bring it in. The fed gubment has just given up trying to tackle the situation. Its a socio-economic problem now.
