Turkish-led forces ingored the ceasefire initiative proposed by Egypt for the conflict in Libya and continued their advance on positions of the Libyan National Army supported by Egypt and the UAE. So, now, Egypt is sending massive columns with battle tanks to the border with Libya. Egypt could opt the strategy of direct actions if the situation escalates even further and Turkish proxies continue their advanc on Sirte.

Historically, Libya has a history of fighting colonialism as coastal Berber Senoussi tribes are also natural warriors and don’t cotton to foreign fuckwits invading their lands, going back to Carthaginians. The Italian facists tried their luck in Libya too and Omar Mukhtar gave them a run for their worthless lira. The Germans and Rommels Africa Corps made the same mistake of bringing in third rate “allies” like Italy to invade North Africa and we all know how well that ended. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, it mirrors much of what I have come to learn via my 40+ years, working and travelling in the middle east ( Libya included ) as a professional working in the oil and energy industry. What has happened there is a tragedy in every sense of the word, for the land and the people, as is so for Syria and Iraq. Had Russia a leader with political clout and courage, He would have moved into Israel and secured the west bank and Gaza and dealt the shit-eating cockroaches in Helaviv a lesson that they would rue for the rest of time. Minor correction, Germany did not bring in third rate allies to invade North Africa, the Italians were already there…Libya at the time being an Italian colony.

Germany helped its third rate ally with troops in order for them not to be kicked out of North Africa.

If the Egyptians are going to participate in a regional coalition to clear the IDF out of the occupied territories. Then detering Libya from being used against them is going to be an important consideration.
