The first sample of the latest Russian Sukhoi S-70 ‘Ohotnik’ (Hunter) heavy attack UAV was revealed on December 14.

The new UAV with a jet flat nozzle for additional reduction of thermal and radar visibility was rolled out at the Valery Chkalov Novosibirsk Aircraft Plant.

“The United Aircraft Corporation of Rostec State Corporation for the first time showed the S-70 Ohotnik drone equipped with a flat jet nozzle. The aviation complex has reduced radar visibility and will receive a new ground control center,” the press service of the corporation reported.

The S-70 Ohotnik is a heavy attack flying wing UAV that is reportedly equipped with AL-41F engines with no afterburner. They are implemented into the fuselage. The flat nozzle of the engine is the main feature of the new UAV that reduces the radar visibility of the vehicle. Moreover, the UAV capabilities will be increased due to a new ground control point.

The Ohotnik can be equipped with up to 8 tons of weapons, like for example, Kinzhal (Dagger) ballistic missile system. It’s flying range is about 6000 km.

Ohotnik UAV was reportedly created for operations over the sea. It is aimed at reconnaissance and providing target designation for high-precision weapons of surface and underwater basing as well as reconnaissance and destruction of separate sea targets.

The first model of the Hunter UAV with a flat nozzle was presented at the MAKS-2019 International Aviation and Space Salon.
