The video showing the use of the Milan ATGM by soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was shared online.
The MILAN is a French/German developed anti-tank guided missile, with a single shaped-charge warhead. MILAN is a product of Euromissile, a Franco-West German missile development program dating back to the 1960s. It is a wire-guided semi-automatic command to line-of-sight missile, which means the sight of the launch unit has to be aimed at the target to guide the missile.

Some MILAN ATGMs were sent to Ukraine by France.
How does the west expect for the Russians to learn to use all the supplied arms once they get dropped by the UKR forces? They got so much in the past few days that they will need at least a few weeks to teach the troops how to use them ;)
Maybe the Russians don’t want to use them for fear of killing themselves. These things are often well past their best before date. If I had a say in the matter, they’d get smuggled to the Mexican cartels, so the US get a taste of their own medicine.

Heard that around 1,000 Javelins have been captured by Russian backed forces so far and the ones that have been used are mostly failing to breach the armour of Russian tanks.

I guess that is on the soldiers, though. It is supposed to be “fire and forget”, so one just needs to aim, fire, duck and change position. But I have seen videos where they keep standing and watching, giving the enemy all the time in the world to locate and attack them. There was even one where the tank hit back and the shooter was obliterated. It was in the comments somewhere in the past few days here on SF. I cannot find it at the moment.

hahaaaa that is the fugliest looking anti-tank guided missile I’ve ever seen, which by the way has already been proven to be very ineffective at penetrating tank armor. This French ATGM is not even practical or tactical, its like walking around on the battlefield with a refrigerator. There are also dozens of videos of Russian tanks being hit with over five Javelins and the Russian tank just calmly drives away almost completely unscathed lol. All those billions of dollars and this is the best NATO can come up with? No wonder Russia has not been blowing up the railways until just a few days ago. They want NATO to embarrass themselves in front of the eyes of the whole world with their useless weapons being funneled into Ukraine.
Javelins are the best ATGM in the world and probably the most dangerous weapon Ukraine has received so far.
