On January 23, Hezbollah attacked a key air traffic control base of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), causing some damage.

In a statement, the group said that the base, which is located on Mount Meron some eight kilometers away from the border with Lebanon, was attacked in response to “recent assassinations and repeated attacks on civilians” in Lebanon and Syria.

It said it had launched a “large number of suitable missiles” at the key Israel base, in its second such attack in recent weeks.

The IDF acknowledged that the attack caused slight damage to the infrastructure of the base. Several of the projectiles fired by Hezbollah were intercepted by the Iron Dome air defense system, but some struck the base, it said in a statement. No injuries were caused by the attack, the IDF added.

The IDF also noted it has backup systems to ensure that the air traffic control base continues to operate, saying “there is no damage to the Air Force’s detection capabilities.”

Later, the IDF announced that it had struck a “military asset” belonging to Hezbollah and Iranian forces in Lebanon, in response to the attack on thMount e Meron base.

In a statement, the IDF said fighter jets destroyed “a military asset used by the Hezbollah terror organization and operated by Iranian forces.” Other Hezbollah targets were hit in southern Lebanon, the IDF added.

Hezbollah first attacked Mount Meron base on January 6 in response to the killing of Saleh al-Arouri, deputy leader of the Palestinian Hamas Movement in a strike on the Lebanese capital Beirut that was blamed on Israel.

Several commanders of Hamas and Hezbollah as well as senior officers of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps were killed in strikes on Lebanon and Syria. Israel was held responsible but didn’t not take responsibility for them.

The clashes on the Lebanese-Israeli border first broke out after the start of the war in Gaza, with Hezbollah and its allies carrying out attacks in support of the Strip.

So far, the border clashes have resulted in six civilian deaths on the Israeli side, as well as the deaths of nine IDF soldiers. On the Lebanese side, more than 200 have been killed. The toll includes 156 Hezbollah fighters, 14 of whom were killed in Syria, 28 Palestinians, a Lebanese soldier, and at least 24 civilians.

iof numbers under reported as usual. the zionist occupiers have a policy not to report the truth.

it reminds me of “war” games kids played and one side would never take “casualties” (usually the yanks fighting germans” and the accusation would go out “you never take shots” or you never die when i pretend kill you.

these “attacks” if reported correctly have only a psychological effect. meanwhile civilians of gaza suffer.
