Hezbollah knocked down on May 14 a surveillance aerostat of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) using anti-tank guided missiles (ATGM), killing or wounding six Israelis during the attack.
The group released video footage showing its fighters targeting the launch pad of the surveillance aerostat, identified as an SkyStar 330, its control room and operators in the IDF’s Adamit site near the border with Lebanon using three Iranian-made Almas ATGMs.
Almas is a copy of the Israeli Spike family of missiles. Similar to the Spike ATGM, Almas is equipped with an electro-optical or an infrared imaging seeker. The missile has a top-attack feature, meaning it can hit its target from above as a form of plunging fire. It can also hit targets behind the line of sight as seen in the attack on Adamit.
The SkyStar 330, developed by Israel’s RT Aerostats Systems, can be deployed at an altitude of up to 1,500 feets. It is typically equipped with a day/night gyro stabilized optical system as well as a phased array pulse doppler ground surveillance radar. After being knocked down by Hezbollah, the aerostat drifted and crashed nearly intact in the southern Lebanese town of Rmaych.
The IDF acknowledged losing the aerostat later in the day. It also said that an Israeli civilian was killed and five troops were wounded in the attack.
The slain man described by Israel as a civilian was however clearly inside the Adamit site during the attack according to the footage released by Hezbollah, meaning he was either a technician from RT Aerostats Systems or a contractor working for the IDF.
Hezbollah said that the attack was carried out “to support the steadfast Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and in support of their brave and honorable resistance.”
Later in the day, the group announced four more attacks in support of Gaza against the settlements of Avivim and Al-Malikiyah as well as the headquarters of the IDF’s 810th Brigade in the Ma’ale barracks and the Samaqa site. No casualties were reported by Hebrew media.
In an initial response to Hezbollah’s attacks, the IDF said it struck buildings used by Hezbollah in southern Lebanese towns of Ayta al-Shaab and Kafr Kila.
The real response came early on May 15 when an Israeli strike hit a vehicle close to the city of Tyre in southern Lebanon. The strike killed Hussein Ibrahim Makki. The IDF said that he was a senior commander in the group’s so-called Southern Front unit. He had previously commanded Hezbollah’s coastal division. Lebanese media said that two other people were wounded in the strike.
Makki “planned and carried out many terror attacks against the Israeli home front amid the war,” according to a statement by the IDF.
Hezbollah later announced Makki’s death, saying that he was killed “on the road to Jerusalem,” its term for members killed by the IDF during the current confrontation. The group did not however refer to Makki as a commander or list a role for him.
Since the outbreak of the Israeli war on Gaza last October, Hezbollah and its allies began launching near-daily attacks against the IDF in support of the Hamas Movement and other Palestinian armed factions in the Strip.
So far, the border clashes have resulted in ten civilian deaths on the Israeli side, as well as the deaths of at least 14 IDF soldiers and reservists. On the Lebanese side, more than 400 people have been killed, including 281 fighters of Hezbollah and at least 70 civilians.

they can’t be hidden. that’s what everyone is saying. the idf figures aren’t hiding anything — they’re just blatant lies in the face of hard evidence that idf deaths are in the thousands. the deaths of idf have been recorded since the beginning of the war. israel lies just like zelensky and his government lies about their casualties.
child killer demons got roasted & ragdolled.
i almost feel sorry for the guy getting hit in the dick by a missile. xd i think he could have guided it a bit lower-left to get the other guy too, but maybe the missiles have low explosive power (i can see no effect on the first target) so they need a direct hit…
best direct hit with a drone or missile in the history of drones and missiles. fuckin beautiful.
