The improved version of the Russian Lancet loitering munition has been spotted in action in Ukraine for the very first time.
The version in question, which remains without an official designation, is built around the Lancet-3. It features a more aerodynamic design with extended X-shaped wings. This version has a longer range and endurance than the original Lancet-3, which has a range of 40 kilometers and an endurance of up to 40 minutes only.
On July 22, Russian sources shared a video showing the improved Lancet-3 targeting a Ukrainian military truck that was towing an unidentified artillery gun. The loitering munition scored a direct hit. The truck, which was likely carrying ammunition, exploded along with the gun.
The Lancet, which was developed by the ZALA Aero Group, is equipped with an elector-optical system that allows it to detect, track and lock on static and moving targets. The loitering munition is armed with a warhead that weights three kilograms.
The Russian military has been using the Lancet and other types of loitering munitions against Kiev forces since the beginning of its special operation in Ukraine.
Within a few years, Russia became one of the main developers of loitering munitions in the world. The Russian military is currently working to integrate loitering munitions into its units. The success of these systems in Ukraine will likely speed up the process.

This type of drone is using a HE FRAG warhead and a proximity fuse. It will explode over the target and penetrate everything with shrapnel. Even without secondary explosions everybody in the killzone would be dead and every device unusable.

Lancet flew over truck and hit the trees near by, exploded and woodland caught fire that spread to that truck. If was not for that trees Lancelot would continue to fly and hit ground. No it did not, it flew over truck and exploded in the tree canopy, you can clearly see that explosion is in the trees and spreading over and above the truck. If they hit cabin, explosion would be much lower and would spread from truck, over the field and there would be fire straight away. You can clearly see that truck is intact, not burning after explosion and truck caught fire from burning bush. Go and find some videos and see how explosion looks like wen direct hit with Javelin or other RPG-7.

How you know that Ukros did not run away. There is clearly smoke coming from the tree, not even fire and then video is cut and then shoving already burned truck. So what happened in between. You can clearly see how that “artillery piece” is so close to truck when towing, on that piece of video with burnt truck that artillery is quite far away so it looks like that Ukros trayed and succeeded to unhook Artillery and move away because I do not think that Lancet have that much power to blow that few tons heavy howitzer or cannon quite far from the truck.

Ukros already left truck before explosion, you can clearly see them how they are running next to howitzer so with this “hit” no one Ukros died and howitzer is safe.

If you look carefully, you can see 2 Ukrainians if not 3 running on the side of the truck toward the howitzer after the Lancet hit the tree and the truck at same time which caught fire immediately. Later on it’s obvious the survivors pulled away the howitzer a few meters away in an attempt to preserve it.
