In Video: Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Test-Launch New 'Qaem 100' Space Rocket

On November 5, Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Aerospace Force (IRGCASF) carried out a successful test-launch of a new small-lift orbital space launch vehicle, dubbed Qaem 100.

The test-launch was attended by IRGCASF commander Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh and several senior officials of the country’s armed forces. The rocket successfully reached suborbital space during the test.

Qaem 100 is a three-stage solid-fueled rocket that can put a satellite weighing 80 kg into a 500 kilometers orbit. The first stage of the rocket is reportedly the Raafe solid fuel motor, which successfully passed its static test last January. Raafe can produce 68 tons of thrust. It uses gimballed thrust vector control for steering and has a wound carbon-fiber composite casing reducing weight compared to traditional casing.

The new rocket will be used soon to launch the Nahid communication satellite, which was developed by the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology of Iran.

The successful test-launches comes a day after mass rallies which were held across Iran to mark the National Day of the Fight against Global Arrogance on the anniversary of the United States embassy takeover on 4 November 1978.

Iran has been working to develop indigenous satellite launch capabilities for a long while. The country’s space program saw several setbacks. However, it is now moving forward faster than before.

The United States and its European allies have repeatedly criticized Iran’s space program, claiming that it violates the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council. Tehran, however, maintains that its space program is peaceful in nature.

N.K.

NK launched an ICBM yesterday. It has a range of about 12000 km and has the capability to strike the whole US continent.

Assad Defeated Zionists

That’s probably the precursor of the ICBM that will pack the thermonuclear warheads needed to bring Tel Aviv to its knees and give back the Golan Heights and all the other stolen territories.

i would love that idea, but it would be good for the area to live in? I prefer a carpet bombing strategy above the nuclear one.

Assad Defeated Zionists

I didn’t say they would be used. Only forcefully persuade Israel to have those illegal Orthodox settler leeches evicted from their illegal outposts and the Golan Heights given back to Syria as per several UNSC resolutions.

Probably, But bringing the Apartheid regime to its knees does not require nuclear warheads and more importantly, there’s no need for an ICBM to do that from over here, unless someone plans to do it from the Americas. Or has an unfinished business “somewhere” in the Americas. Just sayin’.

PS. A few Flying Doritos are enough to do it. We just need that Russia sells us their Geran-2 drones!! ;)

Tis good to see a successful and new Iranian missile launch.

Flat pancake conspiracy theorist? It’s all done with …mirrors!

Everyone knows it's the Jews.

Congratulations to Iran.

After Qaem-100 SLV, Qaem-110 (MEO) and Qaem-120 (GEO) are planned and currently under development. The sub-orbital test was successful, the engines operated smoothly and all systems performed as expected. We’ll have another test and then the satellite launch, hopefully around Feb. 11th. This series will be capable of launching and injecting 1 or multiple smaller payloads into orbit.

It’s a good milestone. An all-solid fuel space launch vehicle reduces costs and complexity of future missions, gets ready to launch quickly, doesn’t require cryogenic tanks and systems for fueling and it’s possible to have many of them in store and perform multiple launch-and-scoots in a span of an hour from a single platform. #NotAnICBM , honest!

Iran should issue a MAD threat: if the US or Israel or anyone else endangers the State, then the Aerospace Forces will launch anti-satellite weapons to such an extent as to cause Kessler Syndrome.

Any insight on what 100, 105, 110 and 120 in this series refer to? I thought Qaem-100 means 100 kg to LEO but that wouldn’t make sense to have so many rockets with such similar payloads.

Congratulations to Iran. One day Palestine will also be free and that is in no small part due to the determination and strength of Iran.

What's Up

First build a missile that can get to orbit to prove the launch, guidance, separation and control systems , check! Next project up the payload capacity. Over the next several years this will give Iran an ICBM capability. Have you followed North Korea’s missile program, very impressive given the sanctions thrown at them. Now we are one step closer to a thermonuclear war.
