In Video: Iraqi Air Force, Intelligence Killed Four Terrorists In Attack On Key ISIS Hideout In Hamrin

By the Iraqi Air Force official Twitter account

On September 23, the Iraqi Air Force and intelligence carried out a joint attack on a key hideout of ISIS in Hamrin Mountains which lay along the administrative border between the provinces of Saladin and Kirkuk.

According to the Iraqi Security Media Cell, a pinpoint airstrike hit the hideout. After the strike, a tactical force of the Iraqi intelligence raided the hideout where they clashed with the remaining terrorists.

“This hideout is considered a center for launching terrorist operations in the Kirkuk sector,” the Security Media Cell said in a statement.

Two terrorists were killed as a result of the airstrike. Two others were killed in the clashes with intelligence officers. At least one of them blew himself up to avoid capture.

Hamrin Mountains are an infamous stronghold of ISIS cells, who intensified their operations in Kirkuk in the last few months.

Iraqi government forces have been operating nonstop to neutralize ISIS cells in Kirkuk. A day earlier, Iraqi warplanes carried out a series of airstrikes on the terrorist group’s hideouts in the al-Shai Valley in southern countryside of the province.
