The Afrin Liberation Forces (ALF) announced on June 2 that its cells had targeted a position of the Turkish military in the southern part of the occupied area of Afrin with an armed drone.
The Kurdish group released a video of the unusual attack showing what appears to be a quad-copter drone dropping two small-diameter improvised munitions on a military position in the town of Jabir.

According to the ALF claims, two Turkish soldiers were killed and a military vehicle was damaged in the drone attack. These claims have not been confirmed yet.
In another attack, a sniper of the ALF targeted a fighter of the Turkish-led Euphrates Shield (ES) force in the village of Tell Malid, east of Afrin. The group also released a video of the attack.

The ALF intensified its attacks on the Turkish military and its proxies in Afrin and its surroundings earlier this year. The group also began to use more advanced weapons, such as anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs), sniper rifles equipped with thermal sights and now armed drones.
ALF and SDF are following turkish examples. SDF cannot do other than escalate its résistance against the invading occupiers. The insurgency keeps many of the occupying forces from attacking Manbij.
