On July 11, a convoy moving logistic supplies and vehicles for the US-led coalition came under attack in the southern Iraqi province of Basrah.
The supply convoy was targeted with an unidentified weapon as it was passing near Jraischan gate. The convoy was reportedly on its way to the al-Harir base in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region, in northern Iraq.
According to the Sabereen News channel on Telegram, a Cougar MRAP [Mine Resistant Ambush Protected] vehicle of the US military was destroyed in the attack.
Saraya Awli’a al-Dam, a pro-Iranian group, claimed responsibility for the attack on the convoy. The group also released footage of the attack.
This was the eighth US supply convoy to be attacked this week. On July 6, six supply convoys were attacked with improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in the provinces of Dhi Qar, al-Diwaniyah, al-Anbar and Basrah. On July 10, a seventh convoy was struck by an IED in al-Anbar.
These attacks are meant as a response to the to the assassination of Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, Deputy-Commander of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units, and Commander of Iran’s Quds Force, Qassim Soleimani.
The US appears to be incapable of stopping these attacks. Attempts to deter pro-Iranian factions with limited strikes fired backed. Currently, the rate of attacks on US convoys and bases in Iraq is much higher than before.

The Americunts are now literally begging the resistance not to attack them, but the opposite is happening as the resistance smells victory after the humiliating defeat in Afghanistan. The drones wouldn’t last with the missile defense systems available these days. Most of the attacks are IED anyway. The militia’s will escalate their attacks until US military leaves the country, and the Middle East. Even if/when US military leaves it will try to keep defense contractors in the region, as it’s doing in Afghanistan. Russia, and the allied forces are increasing pressure on US, and it’s terrorist’s in Idlib. Turkey’s receiving it’s share of attention, too.
