A major reinforcement of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) arrived in southern Daraa province.

SAA’s military reinforcement comes after Syrian authorities and former rebels in Daraa al-Balad, the southern part of the city of Daraa, reached a new reconciliation agreement on July 24.
On July 25, several units of the SAA, including the elite units of the 4th Division, were also deployed in the governorate’s center. Their deployment is reportedly aimed at helping secure the region and implement the new agreement in Daraa al-Balad.
It was about time, Daraa was never fully pacified. The real problem are these “reconciliation agreements”. “ex-rebels” should be disarmed, their leaders persecuted, preferably executed. The only way to deal with them. Instead the government expect these units will maintain peace and order???

About the videos, the difference between these groups and other militant factions is indeed evident: regular military outfit, no pick-ups; also, they vow allegiance to the Syrian-Arab Republic, not some warlord . The difference is in words only. Still, I’m no friend of the jihadis in Daraa; whether people will fare better under these guys is doubtful.
