On March 27, new footage from the Ukrainian frontlines showed another Abrams tank destroyed in the areas west of Avdeevka. The damaged and abandoned US-made tank was filmed by Russian kamikaze UAV.
The Russian UAV struck the tower of the M1A1SA Abrams tank abandoned near the village of Berdychi.
On March 28, the Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed the destruction of another US-made Abrams tank in the Avdeevka direction over the past day. Along with the Abrams tank, the AFU lost up to 95 servicemen, two more tanks, two infantry fighting vehicles, nine vehicles, as well as two US-made M777 howitzers and two D-30 guns.
Since February 27, the Russian military reported destruction of at least nine US-made Abrams tanks in the Avdeevka direction. The last tank was destroyed on March 15.
The American tanks are in service with the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade “Magura” of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In March, the commander of the unit was dismissed, likely because of the heavy losses in precious tanks from the US. LINK
