The video of another Russian strike on a military echelon of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) filmed by a reconnaissance UAV that was coordinating the attack was recently shared online. The train was struck near the village of Rodinskoe in the Donetsk People’s Republic which is under the AFU control. The incident reportedly took place a few days ago.
The Rodinskoe railway station is located north of Pokrovsk about 40 kilometers from the frontlines in the Donetsk city agglomeration. The Russian Tornado-S MLRS was likely used for the shelling, which made it possible to strike at a distance of up to 40 km deep into the Ukrainian rear. At the same time, Russian reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicle, which penetrated deep beyond the combat line, coordinated the strikes and provided the objective control of the damage inflicted to the Ukrainian military.
The video shows attack on the echelon which consisted of several dozen wheeled vehicles. Multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) are also seen transported to the front. As a result of the attack, about half of the vehicles were damaged or destroyed. Ukrainian servicemen who survived the attack are seen escaping from the area.
Judging by satellite imagery, the strike was carried out in the period of September 20-23. Ukrainian sources claimed that it took place on the morning of September 21. However, the strike on the echelon was not the only one in the same period.
Footage revealed heavy damage to the Rodinskoe railway station itself, that is about 1 kilometer south of the area of the attack on the echelon. Thus, more strikes were carried out in the area in recent days which may have a significant impact on Ukrainian military supplies to the Donetsk frontlines.

Russian attacks on Ukrainian military echelons continue on a regular basis. According to the Russian Ministry of Defence, Russian forces destroyed two military echelons of the 37th Marine Brigade of the AFU at loading stations on the Donetsk direction over the past week.
