The Russian frigate reportedly tried to launch the Kalibr cruise missile, but almost immediately after the launch, the missile went into an uncontrolled flight and crashed next to the ship itself. The incident allegedly took place aboard the Russian guided missile frigate Marshal Shaposhnikov and involved a Kalibr-type cruise missile, an anti-ship and land-attack weapon powered by turbojet engines. The video emerged online in late April.
Previously, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that the frigate “Marshal Shaposhnikov ” had launched the Kalibr cruise missile for the first time. The shot was fired during the exercises at the Sea of Japan.
On May 1, the ships of the Russian Pacific Fleet left Vladivostok to the Asia-Pacific region. Two detachments went on the campaign, including “Marshal Shaposhnikov.”
So are we all going to mock Russian weaponry now just like most here mock US weapon failures ?
No. This could happen to any weapon system. And it does. All these weapons have statistical failure rates, in boost out, in duration propulsion and flight, in guidance and in targeting guidance. It’s important to analyze why this particular weapon failed so as to improve the Kalibr reliability statistics. This is surely underway.
Good thing is that to keep consolidating their “world order” in the current post-plandemic, transhumanist geopolitical circus, the terrorist Ziocorporate globalists only need to maintain the illusion we’re on the verge of war when there’s more chances a JCPOA, Nordstream33 or another ISS deal gets signed before any war starts, even proxy ones. Machine failures like these are way too risky with WMD involved.
“Saved” from nuke war by giving near total control to “free market” fundamentalists, thank Mammon.
Commenting here has lost its fun. So sad.
Difference is with U.S. weapons it happens pretty often. Russian weapons usually work. In the past 30years I have only seen 3-4failed missile launches.
Also who and why would upload that video?
The Russians are cautious about new weapons, but they have made mistakes. For instance, in upgrading or converting T-55s and T-72s. Look up the BMO-T and the BTR-T. These are heavy apc conversions of T-55s; there are not many because they are very flawed. They hold 5 infantry and they have to climb out the top of the vehicle basically under fire. secondly, the Terminator 1 has two AGLs in the hull. These are AGS-30s, mind you; they’re role, in contrast to autocannons, is defeating cover (dropping grenades at high angles to get behind barriers). The AGLs on the Terminator I have about 27 degree elevation. Really stupid, because not they really can’t fulfill their intended role. An example of cautiousness: They’ve been trying to mount a 152mm anti-tank gun on a turreted tank since WWII. Lots of different projects, and lots of failures and dead projects. This includes the latest T-14 Armata, which was planned to upgrade to the 2A83 152mm gun, which is just an ass kicker. However, they killed the project (even though they developed the gun) because they realized the unmanned turret in the T-14 would not quite accommodate the changes in size, weight, recoil, and storage.

Wrong Steve. The T-72 was and is a stellar success. With thousends manufactured. Also it has nothing to do with the T-55. T-14 is flawless. You are reporting CIA BS again. One of your sources must be very corrupted…
Lone Ranger, you must have really mis-understood my comment. The T-72 has been great for the most part. Terminator I is another issue. It was built on the T-72 chassis. T-14 is great, but they can’t mount a 152mm gun as they had planned. You might be exercising sarcasm, i don’t know, but if you’re not then you i think you missed my points: yes the russians make mistakes, and yes, on the other hand, they are cautious.
Lone Ranger: Please re-read my comment. I was not criticizing anything that you suggest i was. The T-72B2 is STILL a world class and competitive tank, but some of the heavy apc conversions, and the terminator 1 were flawed; and the T-14 is great, but they will not be mounting a 152mm gun on it.
Duuud..back to the ole drawing board ah guess
I don’t like this posting system at all. I just double-posted and i can’t delete it. I doubt if I will stick around if it remains.
So, they had a mishap. Not as though other nations have never faced similar, now is it?
Has anybody seen the article over on Sputnik with regards some Activists over in New York, remembering The Odessa Trade Union Massacre, 2 May 2014? No doubt many of us still remember that day, watching young kids, well teenagers and early 20s, jumping from the building, whilst alight and then being trampled and assaulted, when they landed on the ground. The heavily pregnant cleaner, whose only crime was to turn up for work. She was raped, strangled then burnt alive. If she had gone into labour the day before, the baby would have had a chance of life, despite being premature. Obama and Merkel, out in the Rose Garden of the White House, blaming Russia for everything, whilst ignoring what the Kiev Government were doing to the kids of Odessa. Just a few days after John Brennan had turned up in Ukraine with a list of instructions. 7 years ago and why did the Media and World Leaders ignore it? Only Marine Le Penne and the German Politician, Sarah and I cannot remember her surname, spoke up for the people that were killed in the Massacre. RIP. I wish the American Activists, trying to get interest in the story, the best of luck.

CIA are not rapporting anything like that at all.
Others might do.The west comment Russian weapons in a very sober way and are open about their own mistakes as well as their successes too.
But so many here overestimate what they get from Russia and for that matter Iran. They deny to compare as we do and even if its shown by Internet in many kind of ratings and You can throw away the bad ones even telling CIA talk enemy weapons down.
And its worse. People here eat any new weapons from Russia as the best and even makes totally unrealistic scenaries.
Even if we assume the ARMATA at least was the best tank for a while, they dontreflect there is only 19 of them in Russia and 1 in Syria. They can handle the many Nato Leopards as well as the Chinese. Numbers count. Best to the price count. Logistics count.
But reflexions like that and knowing Your enemy as number one is not even an option for most people here. I dont know if its not allowed. But its tempting to assume any sober debate for each country as well as groups of countries is forbidden by the home Billies.
But the problems are the many surprices afterwards, where everything is commented as deep dark, jews, cia because of the self made low level of light made by people themself.
Most things You name as this is totally open here in debates from Our Parlaments(We have the for parle and debate). Sorry many in Denmark is in Danish:( But thats not dark. You even can get almostg everything from Our free libraries and by Radio and TV. Our two mainTV and Radio channels even are in streaming for free, so You can repeat Our danoish babling many times and fx try to use google transplant.
And Yes, CIA is in Denmark too. I mainly feel more safe by that even I dont like all they do. They dont harm us as Cpountry and we even sell mporfe stuff to them, then we buy from them.
@ AM Hants,
“Only Marine Le Penne and the German Politician, Sarah and I cannot remember her surname, spoke up for the people that were killed in the Massacre.”
You’re referring to Sahra Wagenknecht, right?
This launch is NOT a failure – it was part of the factory sea trials called a “throw test”. It is to test the containers and the safe ejection of the missile as it is launched at a pre-determined launch height and let itself fall down into the sea. Apparently it is part of the ship’s emergency release of missiles.
The velocity of an APFSDS round from the 152 MM gun is just marginally greater than the one from the 125 MM gun, then you have the logistics for ammo with two different calibers.
“”” So are we all going to mock Russian weaponry now just like most here mock US weapon failures ?”””
US weapon failures are not reported widely, their deficiencies are found in actual combat.
Thats highly incorrect. I wonder if You have heard about the F35 or the new Bradley.
I dont what widely is for You. You can see many comments from their forces and many more with reflexions and critisismes by Internet. I hope You soon will get Internet – so to speak.
Why do You bring Your timewaster at all ??? So much of Your kind is writtten so others cant find the good stuff.
But I do know the many sites and sources about American weapons. They are not deep dark at all. Of cpurse some producers try to hide their dirty laundry, but often they are like Hans Christian Andersen, where a Kingis told he has invisible clothe on and has not:)
