The Russian military has destroyed an American-made M270 Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) of Kiev forces in the Kherson direction, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced on September 10.
In a statement, the ministry said that the MLRS was targeted with an Iskander-M tactical ballistic missile close to the settlement of Malaya Seydeminukha.
The pinpoint missile strike destroyed the launcher along with its support vehicles and a number of Ukrainian troops, it added.
The Iskander-M used to take out the launcher has a range of nearly 500 kilometers. It can be armed with different conventional warheads, including a cluster munitions warhead, a fuel–air explosive enhanced-blast warhead, a high-explosive fragmentation warhead, an earth penetrator for bunker busting and an electromagnetic pulse device for anti-radar missions.
The highly-maneuverable missile is guided by a GLONASS-aided inertial navigation system. It can be also equipped with an optical seeker with a digitized scene-mapping area correlator system for terminal guidance.
Ukraine received at least 16 American-made MLRS and MARS II -the German-made version of the system- from the United Kingdom, Norway, France and Germany after the start of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine.
Each launcher can be armed with up to 12 M30/M31 series GMLRS guided rockets, which have a range of more than 70 kilometers, or two MGM-140 ATACMS tactical ballistic missiles, which have a range from 165 to 300 depending on the version, in two separate pods.
The Russian military has already destroyed or damaged many of Ukraine’s MLRS and MARS II systems as well as several of around 40 M142 HIMARS -a lighter, wheeled system that fires the same types of projectiles- which were delivered to Ukraine by the United States over the last two years.

given that russian war criminals have done it before & set precedent with their destruction of the kakhovka dam. i wouldn’t be surprised if they did that again to every other dam on the dnieper river as revenge for ukraine exercising their right to self defense with deep atacms strikes inside russia. ukraine must beef up air defenses & stop every single iskander strike like they’ve been doing, in case putin decides to strike the dams.

the us, uk, france and israel should send every available patriot system to protect the dams on the dnipro river since a well sincronized iskander attack on the dams woluld create a riverine tsunami that would collapse every single bridge on the dnipro and would cut off supplies and ukrainian forces east of the river.
