The Russian military has targeted and destroyed two more American-made M142 HIMARS and M270 MLRS systems of Kiev forces.
The HIMARS launcher was targeted with an Iskander-M tactical ballistic missile while stored in a warehouse near the settlement of Yasenovoe in the Donetsk direction. Video footage of the strike was posted to social networks on June 27. At least 20 Ukrainian troops who were operating and maintaining the launcher were killed or wounded in the strike.
The MLRS launcher was detected by a drone while withdrawing to a warehouse near the settlement of Shevchenkove in the Nikolaev direction. The warehouse was then quickly targeted with an Iskander-M tactical ballistic missile. Video footage of the strike, which killed or wounded 25 Ukrainian troops, surfaced online on June 28.
The United States has supplied Kiev forces with at least 39 HIMARS launchers since the start of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine. Germany promised to buy three more for Kiev forces earlier this year.
During the same period, the United Kingdom, Norway, France and Germany supplied at least 16 MLRS and MARS II -the German-made version of the system- to Kiev forces.
These launchers are typically armed with M30/M31 series GMLRS GPS-guided rockets, which have a range of more than 70 kilometers, or MGM-140 ATACMS tactical ballistic missiles with a range between 165 and 300 kilometers depending on the version.
The Russian military has already damaged or destroyed many of Ukraine’s HIMARS and MLRS launchers using precision-guided weapons, like the Iskander-M.
The Iskander-M has a range of nearly 500 kilometers. It can be armed with different conventional warheads, including a cluster munitions warhead, a fuel–air explosive enhanced-blast warhead, a high-explosive fragmentation warhead, an earth penetrator for bunker busting and an electromagnetic pulse device for anti-radar missions.
The highly-maneuverable missile is guided by a GLONASS-aided inertial navigation system. It can be also equipped with an optical seeker with a digitized scene-mapping area correlator system for terminal guidance.

in quite a few videos it can be seen that the iskanders do not hit the target, but next to them. but due to the destructive power, it doesn’t matter, because the pressure effect and the fire spread quickly. in fact, one might ask, is it intentional? is the damage to the side greater than when hitting the target directly?
iskander is a tactical nuclear capable ballistic missile with advanced flight pattern and hypersonic speed. targeting himars with iskander makes the same sense as killing mosquitos with machine gun. it is a nonsense. for example if the same iskander m would be used against some valuable target, for example berlin, it would wipe out the whole city with the destructive power 10x bigger then hiroshima. using such weapon on a single launcher illustrate the stupidity of russia.

well, 1- iskander offers the fastest reaction time and to hit a mobile stuff like himars this is good. 2- always better to use iskander to hit himars, that use atacms to hit beachers.
