In Video: Russian LMUR Missile Takes Out Ukrainian Pontoon Bridge

The Russian military has taken out a pontoon bridge of Kiev forces in the Kherson region with an advanced Lightweight Multifunction Missile (LMUR), also known as the Izdeliye 305.

On August 1, Russian sources shared footage of the precision missile strike on the pontoon brigade, which Kiev forces used in a recent failed attempt to cross the Inhulets River near the settlement of Velyke Artakove.

The LMUR was developed by the Kolomna Design Bureau of Mechanical Engineering (KBM). The missile is equipped with an inertial navigation system, an optical thermal imaging homing seeker and a two-way secured data-link. The maximum range of the missile is said to be 25 by some sources and up to 100 kilometers according to others. It is armed with a high-explosive fragmentation warhead weighing 25 kilograms.

The LMUR was especially developed for the upgraded Mi-28NM and Ka-52M attack helicopters. Each helicopter can reportedly carry up to eight missiles of this type.

Since the beginning of the Russian special missile operation in Ukraine, we have seen the LMUR engaging static targets only, like infantry positions, command centers and weapons depots. However, the missile can also engage moving and maneuvering ground targets with similar high precision.

The production of the LMUR began only last year and the number of upgraded helicopters that can launch the missile remains low. Despite this, the Russia military is expanding the use of the missile, which will likely become the main armament for Russian attack helicopters in the very near future.

NATO's PROXYTUTE

Beijing should now offer its surplus weapons including technology especialist personnel to provide extra advantage to RF forces in Ukraine as a retaliatory measure to get even with Pelosi visit in taiwan. A move to demonstrate the firm solidarity of military alliance between China & Russia to boost deterrent factor against present and future adversaries.

NATO's PROXYTUTE

MSM would report this as :… “. Russian pontoon built as escape route to facilitate its retreat was bombed amid the counterattack launched by AFU*

Huge? Just 100 kg. “Orion” (200 kg of payload, 1 ton of flight mass) could carry 2 such missiles.

NATO's PROXYTUTE

Kiev : ” Hello boss, many of the weapons you sent were mostly got blown up now and AFU is fast dwindling in number, when do we start peace negotiation with RF?”

DC : We’ll send you replacement immediately, we will never negotiate with Russia and you should fight to the last soldier you’ve got because those soldiers knew all the crimes we committed together that would likely lead us both to the gallows once they’re given a chance to testify in court against us.

Kiev : : Oh I know now what you mean, just send more weapons then.

Cost of missile verse cost of pontoon bridge. Which is more expensive?

hash

JXSN88

It’s the cost of letting them use that bridge that would cost the most. so the missile is less expensive in the long run.

Donnchadh

Yes and if the pontoon bridge was built and used to military standards ( heavy duty ) for tanks it would be near similar prices . Of course maybe they bought it online from China ( via a third party ) who is selling cheaper versions at the moment .

HB_Norica

Depends on how many section get damaged and whether you can repair it easily or it’s a total write off. A folding clamshell structure that can bear the weight of a tank ain’t cheap to build. Add to that the in place costs of transportation and erection of the bridge as well as building the road leading up to it. Then there’s the cost of losing the trapped forces that can’t be supplied and can no longer retreat over the bridge as well as the wasted effort of engineers and staff planners who now have to plan a whole new path to advance their forces instead of working on something else.

It said the missile was fired from a helicopter. These are smaller missiles so they don’t cost all that much money as a larger kaliber missile does.

The missile only also has a range of like 50KM, very small, but does the job.

And still no sign of the Kherson counter attack… so it was more or less science fiction coming from a Comedian on cocaine.

“Jam tomorrow” – you see this with businesses, they keep promising something wonderful for the future but it never happens, the investors keep putting in the money so the people running the show keep paying themselves a fat executive salary, the business never makes any money or does anything useful, it can go on like that for years until eventually it folds, but those in charge end up a lot more wealthy than how they started.

Z FOR VICTORY

Once the winter arrives, it is game over for the Ukro-Nazis and their western sponsors.

The American POS equipment might be working ok in mild conditiins, but once the Russian winter sets in, it will be pretty much useless.

Since the Ukro-Nazi stock of the reliable Soviet era weapons is almost depleated, it will have crippling effects on their fighting capability…their western backers will have no choice, but to stand there with their mouths open as the Russian army is closing in..

They will be sniped off with their hands on their balls, same way their German ancestors did, as they were trying to keep them warm.

Big deal. All for show. Russia is just as full of it as the “west”. Why don’t you show us another attack on a low level no meaning target. But be sure you plan ahead with your “western” Partners.

“The Russian Aerospace Force has eliminated, with high-precision missiles, up to 130 Ukrainian nationalists from the 92nd Mechanized Brigade in the Kharkov region, as well as up to 400 military personnel at the deployment site of the 95th Assault Brigade in the People’s Republic of Donetsk (DPR), said the Russian MoD this Thursday (4).” So we are talking about more or less 500 hohols who went to meet Bandera.
