A lot of these videos have no proof it’s Russia though. I’ve seen many videos of “Russian tank running away” and there’s no proof it’s an actual Russian tank. I feel like this “retreat” is too big to be a real retreat, I remember reading how Russian commonly used this technique to encircle their enemies once they try to push more.
If I retreat through Ukrainian ambushes. I erase my markings. Hope radio talking with commander keep me from friendly fire. And fly flag when get close to my forts again.
We can’t get jets up, so no worry about them. Where is Air Force!
If it where a tactic, why abandon cities like Izium that we spent weeks and lost hundreds of lives to capture? Probably spent tens of millions of dollars to capture only to give them up?
Why not fortify, store a lot of ammo food troops and mobile equipment, let the over confident Ukrainians charge past, then attack from the rear, front and side. Easy encirclement.

If someone swings a punch then usually it’s better to take a step back than catch it with your head? Not everyone seems to be giving up yet though…! Don’t forget we’ve seen on here being captured by the Uke’s has meant a fate worse than death for some.

One of the tanks is a T-80U with the emblem of the Kantemirovskaya Division (4th Gr. Tank Division). For Decades this unit was belived to be the most loyal and elite if the Soviet and then Russian armed forces. Aside for the video itself, this unit was involved in the area around Sumy during the first phase of the operation were it sustained heavy losses…much of them related to poor tactics and logistics mayhem along unsecured highways. It seems to me that this division revealed to be shadows of its vaunted readiness of the past, while current russian units involved in the southern theatre are performing much better and with purpouse…this is something worth a reflection.

To me, they looks to be T-80UDs, that can and cannot be in Ukraine army. Look to the K-5 ERA over the glacis of one of them: i don’t think any T-64 had such armour, not even the Bulat that has another more advanced type.
