Russian forces have turned the al-Tabqah Airbase in the Syrian province of Raqqah into a staging base for its military helicopters operating in northern Syria. The Russian military took control of the airbase in 2019 after US forces withdrew from the area as a part of then President Donald Trump’s decision to limit the US presence in the area amid the Turkish advance on the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces.
Awesome!!!
Why would Russia sell Turkey anti air systems? Turkey has supported isis, Al-Qaeda etc while Russia fights them, why would Russia support those that oppose them? Especially when Turkey could sell the tech to the west. Its all rather confusing to me.
The S-400s that being sold are different than the S-400 Russia uses. Selling those wouldn’t hurt Russia that much, also Russia’s S-500 missile system upgraded version of S-400s – S-500 which should come in serves by this year I believe. Russia didn’t have problems selling it to make some money and make sure the west don’t attack Turkey…which is bad for Russia – Turk-isis have bold people and they don’t follow yankees’s orders. Turkey is not fully allies of the EU or the US, they fuk around with NATO and the US as well. Like in Syria-Iraq Turkey fight against PKK/YPG Kurds terrorists which the US support.
Turkey has supported ISIL in Iraq and Syria but why? Money – like US and EU. Also, remember Iran devised Russia to fight ISIL in Syria.
That’s “anti-semitic.” Blocking the Jews’ endeavour to steal and slaughter for their “Greater Israel” is “hate.” “Hate,” I tell ya. /s
