Fresh Russian reinforcements were deployed on January 17 in the key town of Tell Tamr in the northern countryside of Syria’s al-Hasakah.
A video released by the North Press Agency (NPA) shows the reinforcements, which consisted of armored vehicles and trucks, passing through a checkpoint set up by U.S. forces near Tell Tamr.
U.S. and Russian forces made several similar contacts in northeast Syria in the last few months. Despite the lack of sufficient coordination, no accidents have been reported yet.
Earlier this week, a Russian convoy arrived in the city of Qamishli, to the northeast of Tell Tamr. The large convoy transported troops, weapons and equipment, which reinforced a Russian base near the city.
Russian forces were deployed in northeast Syria last October following a Turkish-led attack on U.S.-backed Kurdish forces in the region. These forces, mainly from the Russian Military Police, are now implementing a Russian-Turkish de-escalation agreement.
Would love to see the BTR-82 30mm AP rounds turn those MRAP into mush at such a close range :)

I think it depends on what kind of unit was there. If ordinary US army infantry of marines they could piss their pants, just a little. If it was any of SF unit like rangers or seals, those are psychologically trained guys so it was just an ordinary moment of their deployment. I won’t wonder if they even did some selfies with BTRs in background.

I remember watching ‘Johny Go Home’, owing to being bored at a family party and a young teenager at the time. Where I lived, the train service used the Euston line, so besides the contents of the documentary, the fact that it was what I considered the local station, that ‘The Bishop’ was using, to pick up the homeless children and force them into the ‘rent boy’ industry, freaked me out.
A few years later, owing to being a ‘Glitter Band’ and ‘Chelsea FC’ fan/supporter, I went to see Gary Glitter, following watching a match at Chelsea. Wasn’t a fan of his, but, did like the ‘Glitter Band’. For some reason, which I remember well, I missed my last train home. Imagine a 16 year old, with Chelsea blue, long, over the knee, knitted leg warmers, with a funny face and plaits, covering the knees, together with as much glitter as you would find in Hamleys at Christmas, sitting in Euston station, about 1 in the morning, waiting for her parents to come and collect her and stuck in the middle of the local tramps. My mum had never seen me so happy to see her, whilst laughing at how there was no way anybody was going to get anywhere near me. So glad I watched the documentary haha. The irony, of going to see Gary Glitter, who had not been outed at the time, is not lost, with regards the story.

I have never been to a football match myself,AM, and am not a Team Game enthusiast really. I shunned sports at schools I attended. At a very young age I learned that most adults are mentally weak and that just saying NO to a teacher knocked them off ballance :) No arguments needed, just a ‘No I Will NOT ‘ sufficed.
Your experience at the station must have been very uncomfortable at the time. Its fortunate that circumstances then were not as bad as they are now though.

Although I was not comfortable hanging around Euston, waiting for my parents at 1 in the morning, I was a very arrogant and cocky teenager, with attitude when needed. So could handle it. Lived about a 90 minute drive away. Sports wise, loved gymnastics and long and high jump, but, had no interest in the rest.
Owing to your horse riding, assumed you would have enjoyed sports at school, but understand why not. Liked ABBA, but, heavily into Slade and the Glitter and. Latter owing to pure hormones haha. Got me into a lot of trouble when young, but, loads of fun
I could never understand the attraction of running around on field with others in the rain. However I have been known to climb solo to the top of the odd Mountain in Wales during Mid Winter for the night without a tent . On one occasion the mountain rescue were on their way up during a training exercise about an hour or two after dawn in the light snow, when they passed me on the way down :)
You sound like my son, but, he also loves footie, as well as spending nights on the mountains. A few months ago, he went for a stroll and ended up on top of Helvellyn. Three professional mountain climbers, wearing all the gear, looked at him thinking ‘idiot’. Yet they got lost and ended up with him driving them back in the complete opposite direction that they found themselves in. Must admit, it did make me laugh.
I lead a group of recruits to the top of Helvellyn sometime in the 80’s. It was in Summer and as we reached the top a female sgt tripped and badly sprained her ankle. We camped there for the night as planned. We made a makeshift stretcher the next morning but it was rather awkward going down the path to the RV with the 4 tonner. The only way was for me to carry her down, as I was the strongest. It was a hard slog, especially the ‘steps’.
The 4 tonner broke down on the way back and a breakdown truck came to us from Catterick. Luckily they could fix the truck.

My grandson, just before he was one could climb the stairs before he could walk and have some lovely photos of him at the top of one of the peaks a couple of days after he learnt to climb the stairs. Do wonder if he will grow up to love climbing. He seriously loves being outside and his dad was the same.
It took 3 or 4 hrs to arrive if I remember correctly and about another hour to sort the problem out. Luckily there were a few ration packs left. It was a very long day though.
A dog I was also given as a puppy at about the age of 18 ish had died a year or so earlier, so new the puppy was welcome :) She was brilliant with me but very jealous. :) Both were Labrador/German Shepherd crosses.

1. I saw some of those big Kamaz trucks (cab overs) in Moscow and it was amazing how quiet they were. From that, I believe they are very modern and we’ll designed trucks.
2. I’m wondering what those antenna arrays are on the lead and trailing vehicles. I assume they are cell jammers to keep IEDs from remotely detonating. Does anyone know?

It is a sad and damning reflection of the UN and International Law that this was a second attempt by legitimate (invited by Syria) Russian forces to travel to a location in Syria as co-ordinated with the legitimate Syrian government and legitimate authorities at that location. A second attempt because they were earlier prevented from doing so by illegal US occupation forces who are there in contravention of UN resolutions (with regard to Syria’s sovereignty, Syria being a sovereign member nation of the UN), the UN Charter itself AND International Law. And yet the UN and International Law ‘enforcers’ are powerless to even criticise the illegal warmongering US activities, let alone stop them. Shameful indeed.

I do not agree. League of Nations has been replaced by UN. Simply because it has stopped to function. Now we have the same situation with UN more or less. New organization will not change thing. The problem is not in institutions but in Western criminals who block and corrupt everything. UN must be removed from US at least in some more neutral country. And organizational changes must be made that voice of smaller oppressed countries can be herd better.
Perhaps one day, the American flag won’t represent imperialism and support for Islamic terrorism. As an American, I’m not holding my breath for that day.
