On April 12, the Russian Ministry of Defence published a video showing the destruction of the Ukrainian Bayraktar TB2 UAV over the western coast of the Crimean peninsula. The exact date of the incident was not revealed.
The Bayraktar UAV carried out reconnaissance missions of the Russian Black Sea Fleet’s ships, as well as of the Russian Armed Forces’ coastal and ground combat equipment positions.
The UAV was destroyed before entering Russian airspace. According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the Ukrainian multi-purpose Bayraktar TB2 attack and reconnaissance drone was successfully detected by the crew of the Russian missile cruiser Admiral Essen, after which the UAV was fired from the ship’s anti-aircraft missile system “Shtil”.

The Shtil-1 complex is developed by the scientific-industrial enterprise “Start”. It was created to replace the out-dated missile complex Hurricane and includes modules with launchers of anti-air-craft missiles of short and medium range, and fire control systems. One combat unit with a vertical launcher includes 12 missiles. The system can be installed on ships of various sizes.
Shtil-1 is capable of striking air targets at up to 50 kilometres and at an altitude of up to 15 thousand metres. It is capable of firing up to 12 air targets at the same time. The missile complex is equipped with a fragmentation warhead and capable of hitting targets flying at speeds of up to 830 metres per second. In the launcher, the missile at the time of the launch is ejected from the container as a powder catapult to a height of not less than 25 metres, after which, start the main engines.
On April 12, another Ukrainian drone was reportedly shot over the north of Crimea. One of the houses was damaged by the wreckage of the drone which was entercepted by the Russian air defence forces near the village of Tavrichesky in the Krasnoperekopsky district.
The West is hoping to bleed Russian military resources in Ukraine knowing Ukraine has lost the war. Hence the West keeps pumping in weapons while the Azov Soldiers use Ukrainian civilians as human shields. In contrast Nigeria was unable to buy weapons from the USA to battle Boko Haram because according to the CIA, Nigerian Armed forces were not handling Boko Haram terrorists via the court system. Ukraine is paying around $1.5 million for each of these Turkish drones. Except, they haven’t really paid for most of them, they have just paid deposits. The NATO assumption is Ukraine will have debts for these and all the other weapons being sent to them from NATO. This is why Russia should partition Ukraine at the Dnieper and take the southern coastline all way across to Transisnistria. Take it and make into Donbass Republic of Novvorusssia. Leave the land-locked west of Ukraine to the EU, and with it all these NATO hardware debts that Poroshenko-Zelensky took on. They have clear track record of refuting compromise, and not giving up on an obvious lost strategic cause, as is case with NATO in Syria.
