I think the soldiers couldn’t move the S-300 because it was damaged. Sappers need complete control of the area to work. So it was the best decision to destroy the truck before the AFU can retake it.

Not sure why it was abandoned and not destroyed by Ukr. Most likely this was a spec op attack behind enemy lines, the crew was surprised and eliminated, and the vehicle was impossible to retrieve.
but even in that case the proper action would have been to booby trap it yourself instead of blowing it up and give away your position to anyone listening.
Why would they choose to booby trap it instead of destroy it right away? Enemy can defuse it and what’s the point then? Explosions are nothing unusual on the frontline, those nearby are already dead and by the time they send more troops, special forces are already far away. Hit and run.

The soldiers probably couldn’t move it. So they got the order to destroy it. But they didn’t expect this size of explosion and almost got killed. Next time they will probably burn such dangerous objects and watch from a sufficient distance.

This is obsolete version of S-300, S-300PS, its fire range is 90 km, not 200. 150 km is range for PM or PMU-1 (export version, Slovakia had it), 200 km — PM2/PMU-2 (Azerbaijan, Iran, Syria) and S-300VM (anti-ballistic missile system). Warhead of each missile weights 140 kilograms, at least half of this mass is explosive. There are 4 missiles, i.e. ~300 kg of explosives, it’s like a warhead of cruise missile. Fuel can detonate too, it’s pressed gunpowder.
s300 can reach up to 350 kms,adjusted to which munition versions are supplied with it accordingly.
No, max.distance is 250 km. S-400 can reach 400 km with 40N6E missile. S-300 carries 48N6E missile.
