The Russian military has destroyed two of Ukraine’s few USPU-360 mobile launchers, which are used to launch R-360 Neptune cruise missiles, in the Odessa region.

Video footage of the strike, which took place close to the settlement of Novomykhaylovka, first surfaced online on November 26. The launchers were not clear in the footage and was only identified two days later after additional photos were posted to social networks.

Neptune is an anti-ship cruise missile with land-attack capabilities. THe missile is said to have a range between 200 and 300 kilometers.

Kiev forces used the missile in several attacks on Russian territory, especially against targets in the Crimean Peninsula, after the start of the special military operation in Ukraine. However, the production rate remains extremely low and the number of USPU-360 launchers in service is thought to be very small.

A single USPU-360 can be armed with up to four Neptune missiles. The two destroyed in the recent Russian strike on Odessa were apparently fully loaded as the footage shows white smoke typically associated with missile fuel.

The launchers were reportedly targeted with a single Iskander-M tactical ballistic missile. Despite being hidden in a deep ditch, they was completely destroyed.

As the Kiev regime stepped up attacks on Russian territories in recent months, the Russian military ramped up work to locate and destroy Ukraine’s remaining long-range weapons like the Neptune. Earlier this week, three American-made M142 HIMARS multiple rocket launchers were hit in the Sumy region.
