The Russian TOS-1A thermobaric rocket system has been spotted in action for the first time since the beginning of the special military operation in Ukraine.
On March 19, footage showing a TOS-1A launcher firing an entire salvo of rockets at positions of Ukrainian forces in an unspecified part of Ukraine emerged online.

The Russian military deployed several TOS-1A systems in Ukraine early on in its operation to provide heavy fire support its infantry and mechanized formations.
The TOS-1A, which is based on the T-72 battle tank chassis, launches unguided 220 mm thermobaric rockets armed with a powerful fuel air explosives warhead. The system’s rockets have a range between six and ten kilometers.
The system was developed to defeat infantry, armored vehicles and fortified constructions, such as trenches, tunnels and caves.

At least 45 TOS-1A systems are reportedly in service with the Russian military. A newer version of the system, dubbed the TOS-2, was first used during the Kavkaz-2020 drills in September 2020. The TOS-2 is based on a Ural all-terrain vehicle. It is also armed with a more powerful rockets with a longer range.
The TOS-1A system will provide Russian forces with the heavy fire power needed to overrun the fortified positions of Ukrainian forces with ease.

We had a foreign mercenary in our garrison from tbe Baltics. He told us about the massive benefits, the NATO offers. For example, the baltics were the only countries on the planet where you could not enter a supermarket without showing a QR code. This was possible only because of pressure from NATO to impose these vaxx mandates. However, this volunteer died from a heart attack 2 days ago, we don’t know what happened. Food is currently being rationed, no supplies have come in for over 2 weeks. Must go now, the CO gave us orders to execute some civilians and say they were Russian saboteurs, as a last ditch effort to boost morale and to claim a PR victory.

These are batteries of high powered artillery rockets generally set at a high arc trajectory – to gain their maximum range of thirty kilometers. There is a LOT of rocket thrust and intense flame coming from the back of the FORTY rockets as they are sequentially launched from boxes. The higher the trajectory arc the closer the rear launch fire is to ground behind. If you stood behind one you would get full third degree burns. This is why Grads are truck mounted. Because they need to leave the area of localized scrub fires, and because the full box launch is so dynamic that the enemy can see the distant launch flashes in low light or with sun at their backs (like thunder in distance). If you can see the launch point from enemy position you also need to leave that site immediately after full launch to avoid counter-fire. That said, the enemy that might have seen the distant launch flashes also knows that in a minute they are due for an incoming hell, and are fucked, as the rockets are designed to spread out in a cone to smash dispersed infantry and artillery positions. You would not want to be on receiving end of a single Grad truck’s missile box, let alone a multiple line of these trucks firing their boxes in a staggered order.
