Russian reconnaissance drone filmed a dangerous operation of Russian servicemen in the Ukrainian rear in the village of Maryinka in the Donetsk People’s Republic. Two Russian fighters approached the ruins used as a stronghold by the Ukrainian military. They passed unnoticed and planted explosive on the Ukrainian position. As a result of the risky operation, the base was destroyed together with Ukrainian servicemen.
In their turn, Ukrainian servicemen filmed their positions in the village, complaining about the heavy losses they are suffering. According to the Ukrainian serviceman who filmed his dead comrades, these are the losses that the Armed Forces of Ukraine suffered only in one day of hostilities:
unfortunately, official russian info on the war is still largely useless. they follow the old soviet doctrine of obfustication. no info on casualties, only heroic victories. while i donβt doubt the bravery of the russian soldier, the mod should have the honesty and truthfulness of reporting casualties; if only to recognize the sacrifice russia offers.
all nations do this to be fair. if the enemy downplays their casualties by 10x and you do not, it will seem like you are losing and thus demoralize your soldiers.

this isn’t a soviet doctrine. it is standard doctrine for all militaries to deny the actual losses until and even long after a conflict is over. modern technology makes this a little difficult to hide but still is achievable. what isn’t being denied is that ukraine is losing a great many magnitudes more than russia, something even ukrainian generals and western politicians are not stating.
