In Video: Saudi F-15 Fighter Shot Down Houthi Qasef-2K Drone

The video showing the destruction of a kamikaze-drone of the Yemeni movement Ansar Allah (also known as the Houthis) emerged online.

Unmanned Arial Vehicle (UAV) “Qasef-2K” was shot down by an F-15 fighter of the Saudi Arabian Air Force over the territory of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The drone was reportedly launched over the area of Al-Jabri, north of Jabal Kaab, in Jizan.

Earlier in March, the Saudi-led coalition’s air-defense means intercepted two suicide drones, which were reportedly launched by the Houthis from Yemen. A few days ago, on March 28th, the Saudi-led coalition announced that its aerial forces had destroyed two booby-trapped boats of the Houthis (Ansar Allah).

The Houthis has recently increased the number of their drone-attacks on Saudi Arabia. Thus, in order to commemorate six years of the Saudi war on Yemen they carried out a major operation, launching 12 drones and 8 missiles at four facilities of Saudi oil company Aramco, as well as Kind Abdulaziz Air Base in Dammam.

Saudi forces claim to shot Houthi drones over its territory, however a lot of them successfully meet the goal objectives.

Yemeni army says they didn’t send any drones today?!

Apparently Saudis have a few footage of “hunting” these dirt-cheap drones using their F-15s, each time showing them from a different angle! :D In a way, these Yemeni drones are like a saw stuck in Saudis’ bottoms: If they hit them, they waste a lot of money. If they don’t hit them, they inflict at least the same amount in damage to Saudi installations. I’m happy that I’m not a Saudi… ;)

Instead today they successfully bombed Hadi/Saudi mercenaries west of Ma’arib. Congratulations!

Maybe Saudis downed own drone?

Simon Ndiritu

So, where were the patriots? Saudis have already lost, If the F15s have to fly and spend some missiles whenever the cheap yet devastating Qasefs are launched

BMWA1

Thats 200 bucks down drain for Houthis, 200 ooo for Pansies… I mean Saudis.

Failed!…if you see in big screen…the Drone dont seem damage or burning and they dont post that drone hitting ground.

Pave Way IV

The buzzing engine noise stopped after the strike, Rhodium.

Rhodium 10

If you put in slow motion the explosion is too far from the drone…camera operator dont post that drone falling and crashing on ground

Pave Way IV

It clearly doesn’t hit the drone directly, but hard to judge how far it actually was before exploding. Drone does emerge from behind the explosion without visible structural damage, but the engine stopped for whatever reason. Camera swings down at that point – I think the operator was surprised by the explosion. Last shot of the drone around :15 shows it slightly nose down in a hard left bank, then going slightly nose up as the rudder stalls. Looks like a goner to me, but who knows. At that point, I think the camera operator was a bit more excited about filming the approaching jet rather than the falling (or flying) drone. Nothing to do with any AA missile – he just heard the jet approaching. Since the source is the Saudis, the entire thing might just be Photoshopped anyway.

Rhodium 10

or the drone dive to attack some military position close…

Rhodium 10

Its not an air to air missile…the missile came from left and not from right where the jet is flying ( see in slow motion)

Pave Way IV

Agree that it’s not AA. Not sure what you mean by ‘came from the left’. Do you mean relative to the drone, itself? From the video’s perspective, the missile enters the frame near the bottom on the right side and travels up and to the left at 45° before exploding.

Rhodium 10

it is a surface to air missile which has launched from the left ( oposite to the drone way)…and failed because the explosion is too far from the drone…that kind of drone stop the engine and dive the nose when are going to hit the target through an explosion with multiple shrapnel 20Mts above the ground.

Peter Jennings

It’s good to see that even after all this Houthis are restricting their fire to oil facilites and bases. Not like some i could mention who’s targets have so far included just about everything.

Pave Way IV

Tip for Houthis: Heroic Saudi pilots apparently willing to fly within shoulder-fired SAM range just to take out a small drone. I think you know what to do here. Your welcome.

Pave Way IV

This drone was clearly hit by a missile fired from the ground, not an anti-aircraft missile fired from an F-15. Why would the Saudis edit out the launch and brag about something so stupid? I mean… aside from being Saudis.

Saudi air force must be grounded, no other solution, and I think the Iraqi resistance can help with that, open a second front, and earth scorch their airbases and pilots to hell

Inbread Wahhabi Arabian sandmonkeis. would have been overrun along time ago if it wasn’t for Crusaders saving their pathetic sorryArse.
