The prototype of the Super Heavy rocket, designed to launch the promising Starship spacecraft to the Moon and Mars, caught fire at the SpaceX launch pad in Texas.
According to the head of SpaceX, Elon Musk, everything went “not so well.” The businessman added that the problem arose when starting one of the Raptor engines. The fire was reportedly extinguished. The team is assessing the damage.
In June 2022, Elon Musk, announced that Starship would be ready for the first orbital flight in July. In May, he claimed that this spacecraft could make an unpiloted flight to Mars in 3-5 years.
